Just wanted to give an update....I was told by Hyundai Consumer affairs that I needed to contact the General Manager, Anthony Hewitt, and if there wasn't a resolution at his level, then I was to contact the district manager and give them a chance to resolve this issue. I contacted Anthony Hewitt on 5/28/2013. He said he was not aware of this situation. While on the phone with me he pulled up mine and Jim Holsen's email communications. He said he saw where all of the information regarding my best offer was sent to Jim Holsen, and the email I sent confirming the price. He did say that he did not see the emails prior and only approved the amount that Jim tried to charge me, and that he would not have agreed to sell the car at that price. I do believe that he was not aware of what Jim H. had promised. And I know he wasn't privy to our phone conversations. He did apologize, and said he would make it right. He said he would pay my expenses, and ask for me to send them to him. He also said they sold 80 vehicles over the weekend, so he would have to see if it was still available. He even said he could get one if it had sold. He also gave me a cell phone number, that he said was his personal number, so my husband could call him directly to make sure this wouldn't happen again. Well, my husband never called. He told me to do what I wanted to do. When I hadn't heard back from Mr. Hewitt regarding the availability of the car by the evening of the following day, I emailed him. He replied back the next day, after receiving my expenses, saying, "When we spoke the other day I thought you understood that it was a simple misunderstanding. The price that Jim Holsen and I had discussed the whole time was $15887.00 and us beating that price by $1000, so that the new price would reflect $14887.00 and that included the $500 to finance through Hyundai". Talk about déjà vu...LOL. Okay, I never asked him the price he was going to charge me if I flew back down. Why would I need to, we discussed the price, and Jim's deceit, over and over. Now, if I didn't buy it at that price while I was already there, why would I fly back to buy it at that price?!?! Why even tell me he was going to check the availability?!?! Why tell me to have my husband call?!?! My theory is he was going to 'do the right thing', as he said, until he saw my expenses. He tried to dispute some of the expenses; by saying I would have incurred them if I had purchased the car. I agree! However, they would not have been incurred if I never went to Houston, and I wouldn't have for the $500 price difference. I told him I wanted to start out with a clean slate..he pay the expenses I could prove, and I would pay for my trip back down. He then tells me via email he can't sell me the car at that price...lol. Oh, the ups and downs! He is going to make it right...will see if the car is still available...if not, he can get one...will talk to my husband to assure him this won't happen again..now, less than 48 hours later, this turns into...I cannot sell you the car at that price. He did, however, agree to pay my expenses, even the ones he disputed before. However, there was one catch....I had to remove my negative reviews...lol. You would think by now that he would know I don't take kindly to being bullied, bribed, given an ultimatum, whatever you want to call it. I had agreed to amend them as to the resolution. And, I again, told him that I would amend them, but that I didn't think it was fair that Jim Holsen, and Ryan Martin (I found out the guy's name that tried to intimidate me in the lobby), get by with what they did. I, to this day, have never received an apology from either one of them. Mr. Hewitt replies by telling me I have until Monday to take his offer...LOL. So, now he is trying to buy my silence with MY money. *shaking head* I talked to my husband, and he agreed with me...our integrity can't be bought. So, it's costing me $750 to make sure everyone that reads these reviews know what type of people they are up against. Hyundai consumer affairs now tells me there is no district manager, however, I found his name online, but I haven't found contact information. They told me the owner of the dealership is the only other person I could go to, but that they didn't have the contact info (I don't believe that). They put me on hold, and when they came back they said that they contacted Mr. Hewitt, and he told them I would have to find out the owner on my own. I wasn't privy to that conversation, so I don't know if it even took place. I was supposedly talking to someone that was a supervisor in a department above tier two customer service. At this point, I don't think I want a Hyundai period. I am trying to find a review website that will allow me to upload documents so I can upload all the email correspondence to corroborate my story. Once I get it uploaded I will post the website here if dealer rater will allow me to. If not, I will post what you need to google to find the documents. Dealerships should not be able to operate with this level of deceit. You would think Hyundai would pull their name and products from a dealership like this.
