Repeating Customer I have been dealing with Borcherding since 2002 when my daughter bought her new Grand Am GT. Since that time I have purchased a 2004 Grand Prix and 2011 Lacrosse from Borcherding. One reason I keep coming back is I prefer GM cars. Other reasons I keep coming back to Borcherding is the competitive pricing, customer service, and service department, to name just a few. I have always been very satisfied with the service I receive on my cars and feel that I have been treated fairly. All the people I have dealt with at Borcherding have given me the confidence that they have my best interest in mind. I appreciate the follow ups and service reminders I continue to receive long after the initial purchase. I could go on but I think you get the idea that I will continue dealing with Borcherding as long as I continue to receive the customer service and "special attention" I have and continue to receive. How can dealerships like this can stay in business? I bought a 'High End' Buick Lucerne from Borcherding 8 years ago and swore then I would never go back to them again because of their horrible service I bought a 'High End' Buick Lucerne from Borcherding 8 years ago and swore then I would never go back to them again because of their horrible service and customer support. I have gone elsewhere for service ever since. Recently my wife took a call from Borcherding about the safety recall dealing with GM using defective ignition switches and decided to take the car in because of the safety recall. After waiting an hour and forty-five minutes after her appointment time she was told they needed both sets of keys. When she pointed out that someone should have told her that when she made the appointment, Chris told her that yes they have been having that problem. So, they knew they had a re-occurring problem and did not fix it? No wonder they get a poor rating. And to top it all off, all they did was put a plug with a small hole in the slot of the key so you can't hang anything else on the key itself. Nothing stops you from hanging items on the key ring, just the key. So after taking off work and wasting her entire afternoon, the car still has a defective ignition switch in it and I still have a very dangerous key with a slot in it. More

Upon arrival, service desk had no record of the appointment and had to go to another computer to verify / access it. After that, smooth sailing. I found that I had 3 recalls, but the service rep suggested I wait until parts called to ensure my replacement / recall parts were in before scheduling a recall appointment. This was apparently the result of my receiving a call from the service department to set up an appointment for my service while I was in the waiting room. This lady was the one who initially told me I had 3 recalls and wanted to schedule an appointment to get these resolved. More

Poor Customer Service. Poor Quality of Work Good Afternoon. I brought my Infiniti g37x in to have an oil change and inspection on 9/26. Brought it home and had to travel for work. Got home an Good Afternoon. I brought my Infiniti g37x in to have an oil change and inspection on 9/26. Brought it home and had to travel for work. Got home and it had leaked all over my garage. Was told on 2 separate occasions that I would be receiving a call back to fix the issue. 2 weeks later, it had still not been fixed. Was finally able to get a call back and brought it in on 10/18 to be checked out. I was told that I would receive a call in 10-15 minutes to let me know how long it would take/what was wrong. Over an hour later I was called and told that it is ready because something just needed tightened. I was unable to pick my car up, so I asked them to lock the keys in the car and I would pick it up on Sunday. When I arrived Sunday afternoon, my car was completely dead. I had to push it from the parking spot and try to jump it with my wife's car. It was so dead, that it would not even jump from her cars battery. Luckily, a salesman saw me and brought out a portable battery charger (which would still not get it to start). Lastly, a tech came out with a spare battery and was able to jump it and get it to start. My car has never had any battery problems before this and is working fine right now. I purchased my car from Borcherding a few years ago. The level of "service" that I recently received was truly appalling. My wife is in the market for an upgrade on her SUV and there is absolutely no way that I would even consider purchasing from Borcherding again. I never knew a simple oil change could lead to such a disaster. Jonathan Fehring More
Just plain POOR people skills Such a lack of a "customer service feeling." I had asked for a shuttle ride on the website for my service. When I got there I asked where the si Such a lack of a "customer service feeling." I had asked for a shuttle ride on the website for my service. When I got there I asked where the sign up sheet was. (I have done this before.) The advisor told me that the person in the next room would help me with that? I spent my 10 minutes with the service advisor and then went to the "other room" 5 feet away and asked about a shuttle ride. She pointed to the desk and said that I "had to sign up." Um, I did that on the internet days ago. 10 minutes later I go to her and just ask a friendly "Can you tell me about when the shuttle guy will be here?" She says that she came out to find me and couldn't? That a BS story, I was sitting in the waiting room! He will be here in 15 minutes. ONE WOULD THINK that customer service would start with the shuttle guy being there maybe 10 minutes after your appointment time. And be ready to leave. Every time I come to this dealership I always get a ut-oh, this is what the tech found with a couple of a hundred dollar bill. I then always ask if that is covered under my GM Extended Warranty. 3 times in a row they can't even seem to know that I have a GM warranty? I now give them the number of the policy and the date and mileage that it expires. ONE WOULD THINK that this information would show up when you entered a vin number in the GM computer system of 2014? And magically, 3 time in a row, it is covered under the extended warranty. This dealership employees need to buy a Toyota (our 2nd car) and get it serviced down the block and LEARN what 'customer service" really means. I hope the tech who changed my oil was good... 11 more months (end of extended warranty) and I go to elsewhere... More
