Auto Repair Ripoff My car needed a sensor, I told the advisor exactly which one. He told me that they would need to run a scan for $200 to verify. I then told him I di My car needed a sensor, I told the advisor exactly which one. He told me that they would need to run a scan for $200 to verify. I then told him I did not want to do the scan or repair if it was not under warranty. They called me later to say the scan verified it was the sensor and it was not under warranty. So instead of checking to see if the part was under warranty first, he decided to go ahead and run the test so the dealership could charge me $200. When I complained they wouldn't refund the money but were willing to take it off the cost of the repair which was $500. When I had the repair done elsewhere the cost was $300. The reality is they jacked up the repair price by $200 so they would keep all the money More
