I have had a very frustrating experience with this dealership all the way from purchase through my service experiences. After making the deal on the car, and while waiting for paperwork to be prepared dealership all the way from purchase through my service experiences. After making the deal on the car, and while waiting for paperwork to be prepared, I was told that the car that I had selected "had already been sold." I ended up selecting the same vehicle in a different color, and was offered a gift card as compensation for my trouble. By the time this had all been sorted out, it was dark outside, and I took delivery about half an hour after closing time. The next morning, when I went to take a look in the car, I saw a dent above the wheel well. I took the car back to the dealership, and to their credit, Byers had it fixed. I should have never been delivered a car with a dent though, and the delivery inspection report should not have indicated that there were no issues with the body. With regard to the gift card, I have not seen it to this day, and I gave up chasing it as I felt that I was constantly being given the run around. After having the car for a couple of weeks, I noticed a cosmetic defect in one of the door handles. I brought the car back in, and was told that a part would be ordered and that I would be notified when it arrived. A couple of months later, I had not heard anything. I made an appointment with the service department regarding the handle, and when I arrived for my appointment, I was told that I did not have an appointment despite having an email confirmation. They ended up looking at the car, and said that "I never brought it back in, so they returned the part." I was never given a call about the part having arrived. I was told the part would be reordered, and that I would hear from them when it arrived. Several weeks passed, and I heard nothing from Byers. It took a negative survey review filed with VWOA for me to finally get a call. The door handle was eventually fixed satisfactorily. My experience with an otherwise good car has been soured by a poor dealership experience. I feel that I no longer mattered once I drove the car off the lot. All the positive reviews about Byers made me okay with paying a little more than I wanted to for this car, but I have learned the hard way that Byers is like the rest. They pretend to offer a higher level of customer service up until the point you write them a check. This was my first purchase of a VW, and it will probably be only one, not because of VW's product, but because of the ownership experience its dealers provide. More
Second experience dealing with Byers Imports. I take my VW and have always been helped with a smile by Mandy. So very friendly and helpful and quick with the service. VW and have always been helped with a smile by Mandy. So very friendly and helpful and quick with the service. More
I just leased my second Eos through Byers Volkswagen. As always, they were great to work with and I couldn’t be more pleased with my new car. I really appreciate the opportunity to work with a salesman who always, they were great to work with and I couldn’t be more pleased with my new car. I really appreciate the opportunity to work with a salesman who knows me and my tastes so well. When it comes to helping me pick out just the right car, he always gets it right the first time. I like how they work in the customer’s best interest, make sure you're comfortable with the process, and never put any pressure on a sale. Some people dread the whole process of buying or leasing a new car, but not me. It always feels more like a social call… which is why Byers Volkswagen and Lonnie Tibbs sold me 3 cars in a row - so far. I’ll definitely come back to them every time. More
Went in to purchase a new vehicle and tried to get the lowest price around (like any smart consumer). Was treated like a child and the salesman was not friendly at all. Talked with several other people, lowest price around (like any smart consumer). Was treated like a child and the salesman was not friendly at all. Talked with several other people, they have had similar situations. Was not given an actual price on the vehicle but was told to "do the math" for myself. Told the salesman that I found the same model at a different dealer for a cheaper price and his sales pitch to me was that since I lived on the east side of Columbus I needed take pride in that and to buy from the east side. Since when is Columbus divided? The salesman was very unprofessional and didn't seem to want to sell a vehicle to me. I went to another Volkswagen dealership and was treated with respect, so much that I bought that vehicle right then and there from them. I will never go back to byers imports and will encourage others to do the same. Jack More
