I'm trying to buy a car from Car Vision and I'm in California. Here are the many dead-ends encountered so far: * "Can I wire you the money and have you ship the car?" No. You have to fly out here in California. Here are the many dead-ends encountered so far: * "Can I wire you the money and have you ship the car?" No. You have to fly out here in person and sign for the car. Also, we won't ship the car. * "Can I send someone to buy the car on my behalf and then they ship the car?" No. You have to come in person and arrange your own shipping. * "So let's say I fly out there to buy the car..." Please be aware that while you are in the air flying here we may sell the car to someone else." * "Can I make a deposit to reserve the car for 24 hours while I'm spending $1k to come and look at the car?" No. The car may be sold after you book your ticket - even tomorrow. * "It has been listed by you for two months and counting. There is no way you can help me reliably buy this car." No. They are selling very fast. * "What is the total price to buy this car? I'm in Novato CA." I need you to text me the exact address before I can give you a quote. I did this, only to be told that someone more senior needed to talk to me. After 5 minutes on hold I was told they would call me back in 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked them to send me an e-mail. I was told I would likely get one that day but did not and now I'm trying to fly out tomorrow with zero data and zero help to buy the car. It's hard to imagine it being anymore awkward or clear that the convenience and best interest of the client is secondary to rigid policies that make it harder to buy cars - and a lot more risky and $1k more expensive. * The last thing is they now decided they don't want to sell it to someone in California - right after writing this review. I had hoped that the owner would see the review and make things easier since this is not easy or practical for a non-local customer and they advertise around the country on Edmunds etc., wasting people's time. We are now four hours into this purchase before the owner decides he does not want to sell to California - something all his employees should know or be put on the website. More
