I was impressed with the expediency of the process. The car salesman “Nathan” was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Nathan Mel sure the vehicle was immaculate priori handing us the keys. I'm in sales so I always dread coming to car dealerships. IMO the "sleazy" salesman is a thing of the past but they somehow are still thriving in this industry. After looking online, I saw that Carvix had gr IMO the "sleazy" salesman is a thing of the past but they somehow are still thriving in this industry. After looking online, I saw that Carvix had great reviews stating their was "no pressure" so, I decided to make an appointment. My sales rep was Collins. He did not ask me much initially only to fill out a credit application- very eager but no biggie. I declined and said I wouldn't run my credit unless I was going to purchase something. After viewing the cars we came back inside. I was asking about one particular car and what my potential payments would be with my approx credit score + if I put down 3K, 4K, or 5K. Collins told me that we could "fill out a form" and see. I said again "I'm not going to run my credit." He then said, "It's not a credit application, you just fill out some information about your income, rent etc.". I wasn't born yesterday but agreed to see this "form". He then walked me over to an iPad where he clicked an app and the words "CREDIT APPLICATION" popped up. He clicked through the prompts and then gave me the iPad. As previously mentioned, I was not born yesterday so, I scrolled to the bottom and read the terms + conditions where it stated it would in fact pull my credit score. I then looked at him and said "this is a credit application". To which he replied "Yeah, but it's not a hard hit it's only a soft hit" - which if you have ever applied for a credit card or financed anything you know this is not true. I again replied "I'm very aware of how credit applications work and I'm not filling one out unless I want to buy something." He then walked me over to the waiting area and had me wait 15 minutes for his manager (whose name I unfortunately don't remember) to come over and tell me there was "no way he could show me prices without filling out the application first" regardless if I gave him my credit score and the amount I wanted to put down. I again declined and he went on saying who knows what. I sat there and let them finish their spiel but my mind was made up on not doing business with them when they lied about the credit application. If you feel the need to lie about something so insignificant as a credit application, there's no telling what you will lie about. Not to mention - if someone is trying to buy a home a couple of points could be detrimental in getting the best interest rate. The biggest thing Carvix lacks is transparency and honesty. I'm unsure if the reason they were pushing the credit application was because they thought I couldn't afford the vehicle but that's definitely how it came off and as a young professional it's pretty insulting to feel like you need to prove yourself. But, I did purchase a vehicle the next day - actually the same model Collins showed me so, something good came out of it. All in all, I'm very happy I did not purchase from Carvix. We were able to get the deal we were looking for with out having to go outside our budget. Argie was completely transparent and the numbers remained the same. Our credit wasn’t ran 1000 times we were very di having to go outside our budget. Argie was completely transparent and the numbers remained the same. Our credit wasn’t ran 1000 times we were very direct with what bank we wanted to go with and Carvix listen to our needs and requests and was able to fulfill our request. Highly recommend the company and Argie was the best I’ll be coming back next week for another Car. Ask for Argie! More
