⭐ One-Star Review for Casey Home Team Collision – Yorktown, VA I brought my 1998 Toyota 4Runner to Casey Collision Center for repairs starting in April 2024. What followed was a drawn-out, unprofe Yorktown, VA I brought my 1998 Toyota 4Runner to Casey Collision Center for repairs starting in April 2024. What followed was a drawn-out, unprofessional, and ultimately damaging experience I would not wish on anyone. Here is a detailed timeline and breakdown of the issues I encountered: 🔹 JUNE 8, 2024 – THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN I endorsed and dropped off a GEICO repair check made out to myself and Casey Collision Center. On June 11, I called to check when I could drop off the vehicle, only to be told they couldn’t locate the check. I emailed a photocopy of the check to Kevin Ranger, the Shop Manager at the time. This single act—Casey's inability to track an endorsed insurance payment—marked the start of my nightmare with this business. 🔧 ESTIMATES & AUTHORIZATION FAILURES I was initially quoted $7,100. Cost then went up to over $9,000 for repairs. The estimate then dropped to $8,309 and eventually settled near $8,309. I was never clearly informed of work starting, but they later claimed it had begun without my written authorization. After vehicle pickup, I realized this statement was untrue, likely just posturing. 🚧 DAMAGE WHILE IN CASEY'S CUSTODY Sabotaged A/C Line: A fresh cut was found on the high-pressure A/C service line that did not exist when I dropped the vehicle off. I have dated pre-drop-off photos as proof. Engine won't start: Despite assurances the vehicle would “roll and can be towed safely,” the engine will not start—even with jump-start equipment. The 4Runner started without issue at drop-off. 📉 COMMUNICATION & LIABILITY EVASION They refused to confirm whether the vehicle starts or runs prior to pickup. After GEICO settled the teardown and storage bill, Casey stated: “We are not responsible for battery, state of charge of battery, or any other concerns.” This blanket disclaimer shows a complete refusal to take ownership for the vehicle’s degraded condition in their care. 📞 OTHER ISSUES & RED FLAGS Initial tow-in (April): They turned me away after towing the 4Runner with no action taken. Estimate changes were never transparently explained. Work allegedly began without my go-ahead. Proof-of-payment delay from GEICO led to confusion Casey could’ve cleared up easily—but didn’t. 🔚 FINAL WORD 🔴 1. Engine Start Issue Was Not in the Estimate The engine was running and drivable at drop-off (I have photos/videos). I drove it onto Uhaul Auto transport and drove it off it at dropoff. The estimate doesn’t show any engine-related mechanical/electrical issues, let alone work requiring full electrical disconnection or any fuel system involvement. A teardown for cosmetic bodywork doesn't explain an engine failing to start. 🔴 2. A/C Line Cut Was Not on the Estimate or Required for Repairs AC line work wasn't included in the original repair scope. Cutting a steel A/C service line is not a standard teardown activity. This experience with Casey Collision Center has been marked by: Mismanagement of insurance funds Unauthorized or fabricated work start dates Damage while in shop custody Evasive responses about the condition of the vehicle A total lack of customer care or accountability Avoid Casey Collision Center at All Costs.
