I purchased a 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X from here back in August. I didn't have the best buying experience, but it wasn't awful either, so no biggie. Fast forward until now (October 2024)....I have less than August. I didn't have the best buying experience, but it wasn't awful either, so no biggie. Fast forward until now (October 2024)....I have less than $5K miles on it and it's already started leaking water into the cab via the sunroof. I called and made an appointment to have it serviced and while I was making the appointment, they guy I was talking to suggested that we go ahead and do the first oil change as well. I agreed. I asked if for some reason they had to keep it longer than that morning, did Champion do loaner vehicles. I was told that because my truck is under warranty, if it was going to take longer than the morning, they would get me a loaner. My appointment was for 8AM. I got there at 7:45 and was promptly checked in. I went into the waiting area where I sat until 9:30. At that time, the guy comes out and tells me that they got my oil changed but I'd have to come back to get the leak fixed because "leaks take awhile to diagnose and repair". I was stunned!!! The whole time I was under the impression that they was working on getting the leak fixed. I didn't realize it was taking them 2 hours to change the oil!!! So I just said OK, I'll just leave it and take a loaner until you all get it repaired. He then tells me "Champion doesn't do loaners"!!! Again, I was stunned. I reminded him of our conversation when I made the appointment to which he had no recollection of (surprise, surprise). I tell him that I'm going back to the waiting area and he needed to get my truck back into the shop and get the leak fixed. He did. Then he comes back out about an hour later and tells me that they cleaned some debris from around the window, but if it still leaked after that, I'd need to make arrangements to leave it for 24-48 hours. I left and decided that would be my last trip there. It's a shame too because I've been dealing with Champion in Johnson City since 2016, but this spoiled the name for me. More

They have covered the windows in the service waiting area so you can no longer see what the mechanics are doing. I requested a mod x tire rotation and no impact to be used. I got a front to back tire rotation. I can tell by marking my tires. I don't know if an impact was used or not or if the tire lug nuts were torqued to 140 ft lbs or not. I ask the new car manager when they covered the windows in the service waiting area and he told me in July. I said I guess that is why I will be changing my own oil. He said, "There you go". I took that as I really don't care. I received an email to call and discuss my rating. When I called, they were not sure who should get the call and was put on hold. When they came back, they said I needed to talk to the service manager, but he had stepped out and would call me back on Monday. That has never happened. In the future I will only be in for warranty work. I will get my tires rotated at Discount Tire, where I can watch. More
The Service Department went the extra mile to evaluate the issues of my car and especially work with my extended warranty to coordinate repairs covered under warranty. Takes 1 week just to get an oil change and rotate/balance. Been hearing the same excuse for over a year now, not enough shop space. Day of service had to drop off and pickup later. Jeff Lewis, the manager of the department always checks on the customers and is VERY helpful. John Brooks, the salesman that sold me my 2500HD finds the time to always check on me if he notices that I am at the dealership. I consider this dealership family and they will have me as a returning customer. More
Took 2020 Colorado I bought new in with transmission shudder, Champion flushed transmission fluid, truck was ready for pickup same day, time will tell if this GM remedy will fix issue, my truck has 15,0 shudder, Champion flushed transmission fluid, truck was ready for pickup same day, time will tell if this GM remedy will fix issue, my truck has 15,000 miles, it had same procedure 17 months ago with 13,000 miles on it which remedied issue temporarily, I recommend Champions service for expediency & friendliness. More
