Wow pretty much sums up the word I'm thinking of. I'd never think I'd ever profile anybody but the term "used car salesman" is nothing but the truth with these unprofessional characters. Frank was great never think I'd ever profile anybody but the term "used car salesman" is nothing but the truth with these unprofessional characters. Frank was great in the beginning. But Frank was thinking of Frank. We go there to buy 2 cars and Frank was great with us, BS-ing us the whole way. Needless to say that they put us in two cars that broke as soon as we drove them home. They gave us the run around for three weeks and excuses like "I just started managing here." So what if you just started. Guess what? It's your job to FIX the problem as a manager, Rich! What's great about this situation is we are engaged and trying to save money and they knew this the whole time when they were ripping us off. After all of this nonsense I found out that we are not the only ones they put in this situation. They should be ashamed of themselves. More
have purchased 4 cars in my lifetime and this was BY FAR the absolute WORST experience i have ever had. I traded in a 2009 Subaru Forester LL Bean edition with 66k mi on it because we needed a second vehic the absolute WORST experience i have ever had. I traded in a 2009 Subaru Forester LL Bean edition with 66k mi on it because we needed a second vehicle. We decided to get 2 older model Jeep Grand Cherokees. For Some reason Cherry Hill triplex sent us to Mitsubishi for this. Why? I have no idea since Cherry Hill Jeep is literally across the street. I fell in love with a 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited. The sticker price was $16999. We asked to be shown a 2000 Grand Cherokee that was listed for $4999. We were told that this was a 'cash only' vehicle because it was an older car with high mileage (130k mi). This was fine. We said if we liked it we would pay cash for that one and finance the other one. We took it for a test drive to the gas station because it was completely out of gas. It was idling high and shifting a little rough. We asked about this and they said they would fix it, no problem. We were informed that this car had received a multi-point inspection, the same as the certified used cars and that it passed everything. We made an appointment to bring it back to have the high idle and shifting problem fixed and decided to purchase the car. I had negotiated the payments for the 2005 Grand Cherokee and said i didn't want to finance for any more than 5 years. He had me write down my bottom line monthly payment and the term of the lease and sign it. Then he went in the back and did whatever it is they do back there and came back out and congratulated us on the purchase of our new cars. Since my credit score is in the high 700's I knew i would get financing, no problem. They said banks were haggling over the loan and that we could take the cars home and come back to finish the paper work a few days later. Well on the way home the check engine light came on in the 2005, and the 2000 Jeep broke down. We had to tow it back in. When we came back to sign the paperwork and i asked for the transmission issues to be addressed on there. They said they didn't have to do it since it was already in the shop and that they would have it all fixed before we took possession of the vehicle. The other car had a broken navigation unit that they had promised to fix and i made them put that in writing since it was not yet fixed. When i went to sign the financing paperwork i see that not only did they charge me $18000 for the 2005, they extended the lease term to 72 months. AND THEY FINANCED THE 'CASH-ONLY' CAR BEHIND MY BACK! For $1000 more than the asking price on that one as well! When i asked about these things I was told since we signed the papers the first day and drove home that we agreed to whatever they did with the financing. what the hell! So they gave us back the 2000 Jeep with an empty gas tank (Again!) We asked them to fill it since we never got a tank of gas the first time around for either vehicle. They put $20 worth of gas in, said it ran fine and I asked for a copy of the work that was performed. They said they don't put that in writing. Well by now I'm skeptical and I asked for it in writing, whether it was their policy or not. I wasn't leaving without it. They said no problem, typed something up for us and we left. Then the car broke down on the way home AGAIN. We had it towed back in. I called 4 timed in 9 days and no one would talk to me or return my call. No one knew anything about my car. I was told they couldn't find the paperwork on it, they didn't have the part, it couldn't be fixed, they were working on it, and my personal favorite, "how about we take you out of that and put you in a used Hyundai? It will only cost you an extra $20 or $30/month for 5 years instead of 3..." Umm if I wanted a Hyundai don't you think I would have bought a Hyundai??? So we bought the cars on May 26. It was June 14 before they finally (allegedly)fixed the '00. During this time I tried to get the '05 navigation fixed twice. I sat over at Jeep for 4 hours to find out they didn't have the part. I live an hour away. I am sick of driving back and forth. I asked for them to let me go to my local certified Jeep service place to have it installed. They said no problem, give me a paper saying they would pay for it and now they are refusing to pay for it, citing it is old and likely to break. seriously??? you put it in writing! The used car manager told me I should just go get a Garmin. Really?? The radio is connected to it and I can only listen to the stations that are pre-programmed and the CD player doesn't work. I'm still dealing with this issue. When we returned to pick up the '00 We brought our mechanic with us this time. He told us it won't pass inspection. So much for the 'multi-point inspection' that was performed before we bought it. He said it also appears to have flood damage. Their answer: "well you're really rolling the dice when you purchase an older car." rolling the dice?? For $6000 you'd think it would at least run!! I think you are taking your chances when you by a car on Craigslist but when you buy from a dealership you would think they would stand behind what they sold you. Isn't it illegal to sell a car with flood damage? It won't even pass inspection! It has a rotted out muffler, a bad CV boot and a leak in the transmission. I am so sick of dealing with these people. I wish i never set foot in that place. The real kicker? It broke down again on the way home...THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN 3 WEEKS! We had just crossed the bridge into Philly when the check engine light came on and the transmission started acting up again. I'm going to have it towed to my own mechanic this time. Basically I 'rolled the dice' with Cherry Hill Mitsubishi, spent almost $6000 on a car that is probably worth $3200 and now I will likely have to spend another $2500 in repairs. My only hope is that someone else will read this and not make the same mistake as I did. And for the record, the Jeep service across the street was a pleasure to deal with. They are a hundred times nicer over there. Unfortunately I will be going somewhere else for my next Jeep purchase because I had such an unpleasant experience at Cherry Hill Mitsubishi. More
