A dealership that will completely SCAM you in their service department. Scheduled a basic oil change (shown as $89.99 on website) knowing that it may be a little more expensive given tax, labor, materi service department. Went to dealership at 7:30am for my appointment and was told it was going to take 2 HOURS…for an oil change. I could have gone to valvoline and gotten an oil change in 15 minutes or less (first mistake). The ‘advisor’ Jocelyn C seemed very sweet and helpful at first. She walked me through all the steps needed to get my car service and asked for any information needed from me. BUT it just got worse from there…she then proceeded to show me her device where it said my total would be almost $400. I was very confused on where this number came from so she showed me the breakdown. Oil change $89, 3 different engine services around $30 each, and finally a recommended brake fluid exchange for $230. I continuously stated to her that all I wanted was an oil change and so she took off the brake fluid service which brought the total to around $200. Still confused on why the other services were needed, she claimed that these services were ‘REQUIRED’ by KIA when getting an oil change. After agreeing to these services since she stated they were required, she gave me a free breakfast voucher and showed me the waiting room inside. While waiting I did more research on if these other services were really required as I have family with KIAs and they told me that when they go get an oil change at their local dealerships it is $89 and it INCLUDES a tire rotation (another added on cost that Jocelyn tried to get me to buy). After some simple googling and receiving the payment paperwork that showed ‘requested service’, turns out none of those extra services were actually required. At this point I was just ready to pay, leave with my car, and never come back. On top of this my car appointment went from an estimated 2 hours maximum to 2 and a half hours until I received a text/phone call. Seems like the dealership overall has poor time management as a girl nearby was told her car would be ready in less than 10 minutes and 40 minutes later, she was still sitting in the waiting room. Once I met with Jocelyn to receive my car, I confronted her about these required services showing up as requested on the receipt. She then tells me “they are stated as required at this dealership, but if you would have said you did not want the services, I would have taken them off.” WHAT????!!!! I don’t think this Jocelyn girl knows what the word required means or implies when stated. I told her I said multiple times that an oil change for $89.99 was all I wanted. She proceeded to not care about my concerns or points about this being a scam to other costumers and just placed papers in front of me to confirm my payment. THEN, she tried to make me look like the bad guy and state “well I also walked into the waiting room and called your name twice”. COMPLETE LIE TO MY FACE - the waiting room had maybe 20 seats total and not even half of them were full. On top of that I was watching each person coming in and out as I was hoping that and oil change really would not take 2 hours. AWFUL customer service from Jocelyn and City KIA. Much better off going to Vavoline!! More
