What can I say, we went back to Conklin Cars in Salina to purchase our second Prius in less than a year. We are now a two Prius family and couldn't be happier. Tom Zachary with his helpful, friendly personality, without being "pushy", is one of the reasons we keep coming back. Tom finds out what you are looking for and goes out of his way to make sure you are driving the exact car you wanted. We told him what we were looking for...and he was MOST helpful. We told Matt that we were tired of "playing games" and that we were serious about purchasing a car. Matt said that he understood, and promised us that he was more than willing to work with us, to put us in the right car,for the right price...without any hassles...and he was true to his word. Very poor customer service after the sale. The checklists they provide that indicate the vehicle has been inspected and is in good condition was inaccurate and marked things as satisfactory even t checklists they provide that indicate the vehicle has been inspected and is in good condition was inaccurate and marked things as satisfactory even though they did not work correctly. I purchased a 2009 Chevy Silverado LTZ that looked clean and seemed to drive well so based on the truck being a newer model, the inspection checklists, and salesman verbal assurance I believed things were in working order. However, I have had several issues ranging from a vent fan that only directs air to the feet(no defrost) to rotors that are slightly warped and affect breaking. I can understand that a quick inspection by the dealer can't pick up everything that is wrong with a pre-owned vehicle, but that is why I felt comfortable with the 60 day bumper to bumper warranty Conklin says they provide, but when I called to get the repairs done under warranty the dealership said I had to jump through hoops and drive it back accross the state because it would only be serviced in their shop. I offered for them to just pay the amount that it would cost to have it done by their people so they didn't feel like my local mechanic was price gouging them, but they wouldn't budge at all. Its dissappointing to see a dealer in the heartland of America turn its back on the intent of a deal they made (in this case the warranty). I guess that's why we have so many contracts and lawyers these days instead of good ol fashioned handshake deals where people's words and integrity mean something. More
I was tokd by as service writer to come in any morning and they would fix my broke tailgate lock. They said they would make an exception and try to work me in. Got there at 7:30am (per their internet site), got to my truck at 2 pm. Only had a broken tailgate lock. They did not want to acc3ept my extended warranty and still charged an extra $131.60 above the 0 deductable. Texas Toyota dealers do not treat their out of state customer this way. Conklin is the only Toyota dealer in mid Kansas. Beware. More
