When looking to purchase a car, I do my homework. I check Consumer Reports, and make sure that I check all possible dealerships, in my area, to get the best price for me. Conklin Sales, in Salina, Kansas, met all of that criteria and more. I had been haggling with a dealership, near our town, in Nebraska. They continued to "change the deal", would not show us the MSRP, even when I asked, and would not give us a break on the price to install some accessories. I became so frustrated with them,that I began checking online, for a more honest dealership. I wanted a Honda Crosstour and didn't want all the bells and whistles. Conklins had exactly the car I was looking for, right down to the color. The car was on sale, so I called and talked with a sales person - Matt Snyder. He was very kind and cared about me and what I wanted in a Crosstour. He was fair about the cost of our trade-in, and then proceeded to go above and beyond, by letting me know exactly what my payments would be each month. I told him I would get back to him, after deciding between his deal and the other one, closer to our town. Long story short- the other dealership kept screwing us over, so I called Matt back, and made the deal over the phone - our car sight unseen. He trusted that the description I gave him, of our trade-in, was accurate. We drove to Kansas, a three hour trip, and picked up our brand new Crosstour. No hassles, no changing the price of the car, or the price of our trade in, just straight forward honest dealing. Anyone looking for a vehicle, NEEDS to check this Dealership out. I made an appointment in advance with Jeremy Lloyd to purchase a used vehicle. I knew my price range but not what I wanted to purchase. I sent a message to Jeremy a few hours before my appointment letting him know I was interested in this vehicle. He had it driven to Salina before my appointment. After test driving the vehicle, Jeremy answered all my questions regarding the history of the vehicle, etc. He got me a fair quote for a trade-in on my current vehicle and later that afternoon I drove off happily in my Honda CR-V. Jeremy later followed up with me to make sure everything was still ok and that I was happy with my vehicle. Everyone at Conklin was friendly and helpful. Ok - I want to tell the WHOLE story. I tried to buy a Toyota Camry here 4 1/2 years ago and was very disappointed and did not buy the car here. A few months ago I was in the market for a used car and aft Toyota Camry here 4 1/2 years ago and was very disappointed and did not buy the car here. A few months ago I was in the market for a used car and after much searching I saw a 2008 Toyota Yaris on Conklins website that I was interested in. I reluctantly went to their lot to take a look at it and was met by Michelle Merchant. We looked at the car and over a period of 7 or 8 days we had talked several times to Michelle and Ronda Hamm. They were both very professional and knowledgable and nice! We were very impressed with both of them. We were able to buy the car at a price that we could live with and we thoroughly enjoyed our dealings with them - and everyone we met there. We even enjoyed the guy that was taking our money - Larry Henoch, a really nice guy!! haha. We would not hesitate to buy another vehicle here again or to recommend someone to them. More
