Well, if you want a painless experience just visit the Reno Buick, Cadillac and GMC dealership. I have never had such a painless experience buying a vehicle. Really everyone was extremely helpful, low key & took the time to answer all questions. Nobody tried to hustle us. We arrived as strangers & left as friends. Over the years whenever our son had issues with his vehicles that dealerships closer to home would not or could not resolve he would drive the additional miles to Reno Buick, Cadillac & GMC. The issues were always resolved in a professional & expeditious manner. This is why we decided to buy our latest GMC vehicle at this dealership....and we're glad we did. Oil change and panel replacement Chris was great. Everything was on time. Needed to order a replacement panel. I was disappointed that while our Denali was washed for us, the inter Chris was great. I Still Cannot Believe Any of This Happened We were considering a vehicle at another dealership but it was the max of our budget and not really want we wanted so we headed to GMC for a more appe We were considering a vehicle at another dealership but it was the max of our budget and not really want we wanted so we headed to GMC for a more appealing option we saw online. Marlin Smith showed us the car we found online, a '15 Yukon that was very recently traded in. It was dirty with garbage/hair all over the inside and not drive-able because it hadn't been tested for smog. We said we didn’t need to drive it just yet since it wasn't as nice as the car I was trading in for the SUV. We wanted to see some other vehicles first but Marlin insisted and kept going on about how great of a deal the '15 Yukon was. After waiting for Marlin to take the car to get the smog test done, we test drove an decided we still didn't want it. We then asked to see a '16 or '17 used Yukon. Marlin took us to see new Yukons with a frustrated comment about how we would be stretching our budget with these cars (that we never asked to see?). Mind you, we hadn’t told him our budget yet so he was very insulting. We asked AGAIN to see the used vehicles which Marlin seemed irritated about. He seemed set on us buying the '15 Yukon even though we said no thanks. It was very frustrating. The used lot had two black used '16 Yukons that were exactly what we wanted. Before test driving one, we asked to talk numbers to make sure it was even in our price range. We just wanted a rough estimate of cost before we moved forward with the lengthy process since we had done the whole routine with another dealership earlier that day. Marlin was being helped by Matt Kelly to get “general info” they needed from us aka EVERY LITTLE DETAIL (job addresses, social, insurance, etc.). Marlin was “trying” to get through the process and very loudly argued with Matt multiple times in front of us. It was very awkward and unprofessional. TWO HOURS later, we still haven't talked cost. Granted we had a trade in that had money owed to it which takes a little longer but still , two hours? We just wanted to know if it could get near our price range. They also drove OUR trade in at this time even though my husband had asked 5 different times by now if we could just see a general cost to make sure it was worth the effort to continue. Finally, Cloyd Forman brought us a price breakdown that was far over our budget that we discussed multiple times. I was instantly frustrated that we had just waited hours and cancelled dinner plans (yes, we actually thought we were going to buy an SUV after all this...how silly) to find out that it wasn’t even a feasible option to buy the SUV. Anyway, as we were explaining our frustrations with Cloyd (who was being very rude the entire interaction we had with him), Matt came over and set down a lower price breakdown. He was probably trying the salvage Cloyd’s bad attitude but it was still way too high. We expressed our frustration again that we had made our budget clear from the beginning, why lie and say it was feasible if it wasn't and waste ALL of our time. This was the exact situation we were trying to avoid. Cloyd says, “so if I get to that price point (it was the very top number of our budget) then you will sign right now?” My husband said maybe. We still hadn’t even test drove the vehicle! Cloyd said looking disgusted, “Maybe? Then I am not going to waste my time to try and get these numbers lower on a maybe”. I responded with, "you definitely don't have to do anything you don't want to". We got up and left empty handed. Clearly we were just being messed with. I've never gone somewhere to spend money and been treated like I owed the business something. It was the most unfriendly and aggressive environment. We will never set foot into GMC to buy ever again. We went to Dolan Toyota the next day, was given a quick estimate on a '17 Chevy Tahoe at our price point. We made the purchase and had exponentially better service. More
