I would advise against making a purchase from this dealership. After having my vehicle repaired and picked up, the issue persisted despite the necessary replacement of the steering wheel clock spring dealership. After having my vehicle repaired and picked up, the issue persisted despite the necessary replacement of the steering wheel clock spring component. Unfortunately, the gap insurance purchased within three months of buying the vehicle did not cover the problem. Given the numerous negative reviews, I believe this dealership warrants caution. DON’T BUY FROM COVINA KIA. More

The service dep We bought multiple new vehicles from this dealer. One of our Carnival vans (brand new, purchased 6 mos ago) stopped working suddenly. The service department couldn’t figure out why and didn’t care. They reluctantly issued a rental in the meantime and then demanded it back. They called the cops and refused service, likely due to ageism. There was still no explanation for why the van suddenly stopped working. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing especially because it’s a brand new van and we purchased multiple new vehicles recently from this dealer. We won’t be going back. You shouldn’t do business here. They’re shady and you might get taken advantage of and screwed. Such an embarrassing experience. Embarrassed for the dealer. Corporate apologized on behalf of them but said they couldn’t do anything since the dealers are independently owned. More

My Kia is about to blow!!!! In July of 2023, I decided to trade in my 12-year-old Chevy Traverse with 185,000 miles on it. It was running great and had no major issues with it. I felt I needed to get a newer model vehicle before I started having to put thousands of dollars into it. I researched the local dealers, and they all had great reviews and a nice selection of certified pre-owned vehicles. I had already dealt with the Chevy dealer in Covina, but I decided to shop around a few times before I went back to them for another Traverse. Besides, the Traverse was nearly $8,000 more than the Kia Telluride. My wife and I went to Kia of Covina to look at 2 cars, the Sorento and the Telluride. We were talked into the Telluride by the salesman along with the extended warranty. We were told that the extended warranty will restart the Kia 50k bumper-to-bumper and the 100k drive train warranties. It will also give us free oil changes for the next few years. Since we were looking to be hassle-free for a while, we decided to go ahead with it. September 2023, 3k miles after buying it, I went in for the first oil change. After I got it back, the service advisor told me I don't need to come in until 5k miles. December 2023, 5k Miles later, I took it in again and told the service advisor that it seemed to be misfiring while idling. I was told that it could be because it was due for an oil change. Got it back and no flutter. Must have been. March 2024, 4500 miles later, I started getting the missfire again. Set an appointment for the oil change and drove it for a few more days. It was a nice night, and my window was down. Accelerating from a stop, I hear a bad knocking from the engine. I stopped and checked the oil level, and the dipstick was dry. Took it to the dealer to check it, and they informed me it was 4.5 quarts low. They did an oil consumption test on it for 1000 miles. They called me back with the results and said nothing was wrong. OK... July 2024, 4k miles later, I started experiencing the same thing. Checked the dipstick. Dry again. Took it back in, and this time they wanted to charge me for the oil. After complaining, they topped it off. They also didn't document it. I did another oil change and another consumption test. This time they told me it was low oil, but it was within normal for Kia. I'm thinking less .1 quart. It was down .7 quarts. How is that normal? That's 3-1/2 quarts in the oil change. When I said that it's not normal, they replied, "Kia specifications state that burning 1 quart per 1k miles is normal." Then said, "especially for an old car." Old Car... It's 4 years old and has 75k miles on it. I traded in an old vehicle that burned no oil. October 2024, added 6 to 7 quarts before another oil change, another test, same result. In January 2025, I got the oil change and told the tech that I'm up to adding 7 quarts. He stated we can do an oil consumption test. I told him I've gone through it a few times now, and all I get is that it's normal. May 2025, git the oil change, handed the tech advisor a bag with 12 empties in it, and scheduled for another test after my son's graduation. June 2025, got the test, and this time it was 2.5 quarts low. I felt relieved. Will it finally get fixed now? They took it back for over a week and found that it had 3 blown gaskets. They fixed them and did another test. Came back at 2.3 quartz low. They kept the car. I had to get a rental and pay over $1,000. After 2 weeks, they called and said that neither Kia nor the Warranty company will cover it. Why am I paying for an extended warranty if it doesn't cover the issues? The tech told me he will file for a goodwill claim. It is now July, and I have not heard a thing. Now, when I check the oil to top it off, it smells like gasoline. This issue is getting worse, and I still owe over $32,500, and I'm making payments on a car that is soon to be non-operable. I need this fixed... I need help..... More
I took in my 9 year old Kia Forte to this location after it began to demonstrate concerning behavior when driving. When driving my car, it would change gears on its own and sputter and downshift to a stop. it began to demonstrate concerning behavior when driving. When driving my car, it would change gears on its own and sputter and downshift to a stop. When I took my car in to Kia Covina, they had it for over a month and claimed it was the spark plugs and a coil in the coil pack. I had them replace both parts they claimed were causing the issue, but three months later, the problem happened again. They then claimed it was the fuel injector. I had them replace the parts again for my car to not turn on two weeks later. They couldn't find the problem even after they were able to duplicate it and returned my Kia claiming that they may have "accidentally" fixed the problem when diagnosing and investing the car. My car is already on its 4th visit to Kia Covina and they are now claiming my car won't start because of an aftermarket alarm that they installed when I purchased my car. I’ve had to escalate this problem to the Service Manager, Oscar Najera, and after not much help, I had to open a claim with Kia Cusomer Care. It’s almost been a month from opening up a claim and the case manager hasn’t even called me yet. I’ve tried calling them and the phone continuously rings until it drops. This is disgusting behavior and I cannot fathom the idea of a dealer giving someone back an unreliable car and trying to blame the car owner for a part that Kia installed. I would highly recommend everyone stay away from this dealership and Kia altogether. They will give you horrible customer service and will make it impossible to fix your car. More

Horrible wait times for getting your vehicle repaired. They have had my vehicle atleast 4 weeks a year for the last 3 years while they do simple repairs. So many excuses that are just xx. Theres no supply They have had my vehicle atleast 4 weeks a year for the last 3 years while they do simple repairs. So many excuses that are just xx. Theres no supply chain issues in 2024. Shouldnt have to wait weeks for simple parts. You are buying a warranty, not a quality vehicle. Diagnostic is a fancy word for them holding your car for almost 2 weeks before they even look at it. Only will give you a rental car if the repair is under warranty which is always a fight. And thats after being without your vehicle for the minimum 2 weeks of "diagnostic." Do yourself a favor, buy a honda or toyota. These people dont even drive Kia's. Its a total joke! More
They had my car since 7/13/23 & finally got my car today, 8/15/23. We own a 2017 Kia Sportage. Not sure about everyone else but from the few other cars before me when they picked up there cars looked washed. 8/15/23. We own a 2017 Kia Sportage. Not sure about everyone else but from the few other cars before me when they picked up there cars looked washed. Anyhow, my car came in since it died on the freeway when my fiancé drove it. We had it towed to this dealership since it was recommended from an auto shop. It was recommended that it needed a new engine and ABS recall and few other things. When the engine came in, it was the wrong one. Waited til the right engine came but suggested that it needed all new belts and hoses. Informed them the the radio hose was done a few months again. Anyhow it came up to $613 after the extended warranty and a rust ring on the leather seat that wasn’t there before. Do not come here and save yourself the headache. All the pictures posted on Yelp was not retouched any type of way except to protect our personal information. And they are not even BBB accredited, wished I knew before this experience. More
Original: I took my car for two recalls. 2014 Soul. One recall was the ACU update the other was an engine fire/bearing test. After getting my car back it started sputtering on acceleration. 2014 Soul. One recall was the ACU update the other was an engine fire/bearing test. After getting my car back it started sputtering on acceleration. I took it back and the problem persisted. One advisor said they DID feel what I felt yet the papers said they could NOT replicate it. The lead mechanic went on a ride with me and finally felt what I did. He checked the spark plugs and flashed the same software again and again and still the problem wasn't solved. The lead alluded that it could be the transmission failing but they did not check it. They did little to nothing to FIND and SOLVE the problem. They kept saying there was no error codes and couldn't offer any repair service. Well OBVIOUSLY there IS a problem. And it hasn't been solved. Anyone I spoke to seemed to have no sympathy or concern over my issue. This is my first and LAST time I'll ever bring my car here. It's clear they refuse to do actual work to FIND and SOLVE the obvious issue. Update1: it's been 4 days since I sent "Victoria the manager" an email and never responded. Just proves my point they don't care. UPDATE 2: i took my car to Carson Kia in which they informed me right away they could replicate and found the issue. they determined by swapping the spark plugs and coils that there was indeed a misfire from the plugs. i took it for a third opinion at a local mechanic who changed the spark plugs and the problem has been solved. no more misfire no more sputtering. IT WAS FIXED. Covina Kia's mechanics and advisors are liars. they said my spark plugs were fine and "looked brand new." they either didnt check them at all or when they did the recall to inspect the area, didnt reinstall them correctly. also i never got a call back from "Victoria the manager" or any response from her. Service department personnel are liars. They will hold your car hostage, claiming that they have to have authorization from KIA corporation to do repairs on a published recall! "We'll let you know by the your car hostage, claiming that they have to have authorization from KIA corporation to do repairs on a published recall! "We'll let you know by the end of the day" and three days later, you're still without a car. They refuse to provide a rental, basically screwing you any way they can. I've had to deal with recalls with other auto makers and the process was nothing like this xxxx! Face it, KIA, you've put out a bad product...now OWN it and do the right thing! More
