June 9, 2012 Certified Letter # 7004 1160 0004 3913 0111 Return Receipt & US Mail Attention: Service Director- Joe Mac Donald & Daryl Williams COX Chevrolet Service 2900 Cortez Road Bradenton, Florida 33906 Dear Joe Mac Donald & Daryl Williams; We are writing to you with regard to our 2003 R-Vision Trail-Lite 225- Chevy 3500 motorhome. Vin # 1 G B J G 3 1 R 4 2 1 2 1 9 4 8 0 We are trying to investigate a problem that we had with a recent service at your location on Monday, June 4, 2012. An oil change and filter was ordered for that service for $29.99. We also stated that the vehicle had stalled out 2 or 3 times , the day before. We were unaware that , you were going to perform all this complicated diagnostic service, And charge us so much money of over $350.00. And….After all of your service that kept us there the whole day, upon driving the vehicle, it was still stalling for the next several days. Cox Chevy did not correct this stalling problem. Consequently on Saturday, June 9, 2012 the vehicle stalled completely and would not start at all. In the pouring rain. We had to call Geico Insurance Emergency road service to come out to investigate the problem. Dave’s Tow Service, Ocala, Florida 352-867-5810 came out for the service. Upon the tow truck technicians review and investigation into the problem, he checked the cable connections to the battery. There was a very loose cable bracket and he then used his tools to tighten the cable properly. He then turned the key in the ignition and the vehicle started up immediately….! That was the problem resulting in the stalling…! Since that emergency service, the vehicle has not stalled again. With all your fancy equipment at Cox Chevy, computer checks, visual checks, sales technicians and your detailed confusing paperwork, your Cox Chevy mechanic never checked the battery cable connections…!! Which should have been a routine responsibility that should have been done… to quickly resolve the problem…! How dare you ……….! over charge us for all this service that did not solve the problem. You made a “Mountain out of a Mole Hill”…! at our expense of money, time and energy and caused much unnecessary stress. Furthermore, after we re-read all your confusing invoice and paperwork we noted; you listed on your “Certified Diagnosis Check List” a small notation at the bottom of the sheet; “that there was a leak at the right rear bearing.” This was never brought to our attention at the time of service. This repair was just completed by Tire Kingdom in March of 2012. It was very important for us to know this information because of the hazard it could have caused to the brakes on the road back to Connecticut and that it need to be attended to immediately. We had to find the next Chevy dealer in order to have the axle examined and we did take it to Palm Chevy in Ocala, Florida on Monday, June 10, 2012. Also, during your servicing your mechanic also damaged one of the wheel covers. You asked me to return the next morning Tuesday, June 5, 2012, and that your parts department would locate a new wheel cover. I had to delay my trip back North but I did return to Cox Chevy the next day. I sat there all day, however your parts department could not figure out how to locate the replacement wheel cover. This wheel cover should not have been that difficult to locate, yet your parts department could not get it done. I had to locate the wheel cover myself and I am anticipating a reimbursement from Cox Chevy for $100.00. In addition, I expect a full refund of all diagnostic charges and throttle cleaning, because you did not properly diagnose the stalling problem with the vehicle and created additional services to deliberately overcharge me for this service. $350.00 + $100.00 = I will anticipate a check sent to my home address, stated above on this letterhead. Drove 90 miles to see a Tahoe after contacting Jamie, who was not there when we arrived. Kevin helped us, and was very nice, very professional, and had the keys already pulled for us to test drive. While h was not there when we arrived. Kevin helped us, and was very nice, very professional, and had the keys already pulled for us to test drive. While he was filling out computer info with us, another salesman asked to use the keys to show another potential buyer who had come from 30 miles away to see it. We told him that we had come about 90 miles, and he ASSURED us that we would have priority on the vehicle, and that the other people were not even going to take it off the lot. NOT TRUE!! They did not return the keys and when we went outside, the Tahoe was gone. When they returned, they immediately put in an offer. While we were FINALLY test driving the vehicle, their offer was accepted. We would have purchased the truck because we really liked it, but it was taken right out from under us despite the fact that we were there first, and were told that we would have first option. Our salesman was as upset as we were. Very unethical, no integrity. I would not take a car from them if they gave it to me. More
My wife and I needed a "new" vehicle for our growing family, so we began our search on the internet. We found this dealership had MANY vehicles that fit our needs and they had some of the best p growing family, so we began our search on the internet. We found this dealership had MANY vehicles that fit our needs and they had some of the best prices for comparable in the greater Tampa Bay area...so we made the hour drive down. We were greeted by Tim and helped us located the vehicles we were looking for. Tim did a GREAT job of getting all the vehicles we were considering side-by-side so we could compare them closely, he even brought one from their Mazda dealership across the street. Tim went through each vehicle, pointing out features that we would have otherwise missed, and he paid close attention to our wants and needs. We ended up deciding on a Pre-Owned 2011 Ford Flex, and it was in GREAT shape. Tim asked us several times if we felt comfortable with the decision and made sure this was a vehicle we would not only be happy with today...but for years to come. After we told him we were certain, we sat down and started working numbers and the payment was a little higher than we wanted to be at. Tim took the time to talk to the Pre-Owned Manager, Larry, who was sure to come over and show us the Retail Value and Comparison Pricing for the vehicle we chose....they were already WELL BELOW the pricing on both. Larry asked us to give him a few minutes, went back to his office and was able to work out a deal that made us happy, even though they had to give us more for our trade than it was really worth. I am very pleased with my buying experience at this dealership. I never felt like they were trying to push me into anything and they listened to our concerns and preferences. They even offer a year of FREE MAINTENANCE, unfortunately I’m an hour away, otherwise I would definitely get good use of that. This dealership is family owned and operated and they treat their customers like part of the family…that’s rare these days. I’m extremely happy with our new vehicle AND proud to be a part of the Cox Family. Thank you Cox Chevrolet, Larry and especially Tim!!! More
Simply the worst car buying experience ever. I've bought approx. 10n cars in my life and this was the worst experience. I was looking at 2 vehicles, finally agreed on a price on one of them. 7 hours later approx. 10n cars in my life and this was the worst experience. I was looking at 2 vehicles, finally agreed on a price on one of them. 7 hours later we bought it. Would not negotiate on other until we received a phone call on our way home, too late Kelly, should have at least gave us a"reasonalble" price on either our trade or purchase. But when we are almost home, well thats' too late. By the way, this was almost a year ago and I was reminded of this experience when a friend asked me of a good dealership to buy a car. We dont always remember the good ones but sure don't forget the BAD. More

I was very impressed with the service that I received from Davian. He was a very passonite person and he showed that he cared. I was very nervous and he completely understood all of my fears. I will alwa from Davian. He was a very passonite person and he showed that he cared. I was very nervous and he completely understood all of my fears. I will always recommend people to Cox Chevrolet to make that new or used car purchase. The finacing gentelman was fantastic and helped us a great deal his name is Dan. He walked us through everything that would happen and even allowed us to drive off with the car before the loan was accepted by the bank. He reassured me that we would be approved that he had no doubts about it. This is a place that I feel comfortable telling my family and friends to shop for their new vehicles. They are all very friendly, knowledgable, caring people in the whole building. Thank you Cox Chevrolet for making my dreams come true. More
