Hello there. I am trying to get some more info so I can figure out what I can or can't do for you. Did Patrick give you interest rate info via the phone or internet? Did we check your credit before you came in? I would like to either help you or if not use this as a training example so this does not happen again. Hi, Yes, my credit was checked and I was promised a rate in the "mid-10's at worst." We had also negotiated the price for the car, so I had committed to buy it. The kicker is that I told him specifically that the only thing that would scuttle the deal was if I showed up at the dealership that night to sign for the car and they jacked up the rate on me. He ASSURED me this would not happen. You know the rest, I showed up (with my whole family) to sign for the car and lo and behold the rate had gone up to 12%. He said they couldn't actually get me a rate until I showed up at the dealership--but he never mentioned that on the phone, even with my specific questions about it--and he had multiple opportunities. So, I can't come to any other conclusion except that he lied to me to get me in, plain and simple. Maybe the most disappointing thing was that after I cooled off from my initial anger, I emailed to offer a compromise-- of dropping the price a few hundred to compensate me on 1 year of the changed rate--and he didn't even have the common courtesy to reply...
