I took my vehicle in on July 24th for a diagnostic/service appointment because my check engine light was on. They found 2 codes. My husband and I decided to get one codes fixed because the service representative Matt told us that a simple oil change would fix the other code. That day we paid for a diagnostic test and the oil change which totaled $249.53. I then returned 4 days later (July 28th) to have the one code fixed for a total of $519.97.
A few weeks upon driving it I would notice that the check engine light would come on and go off at random. My husband and I called several times and have been told that someone in service will return our calls. It took me writing a negative review on Google to hear anything. I still had problems reaching some but I finally got in touch with Chrissy and got an appointment. She told me to bring the vehicle in and they would do another diagnostic test ( at no cost to me) to find the problem.
I get to service on Friday October 15th and they ran the codes again and this time 9 CODES came up!! They then wanted to charge me another diagnostic fee of $150 (after saying they would not ) to look into the new codes further. It’s very strange that these codes were not found the during the first diagnostic test 2 months prior. I declined the 2nd diagnostic test and proceeded with having my state inspection done and left. Mr. Butler was the service representative who assisted me. He acted as if the new codes were so precious that he couldn’t give me a copy of them after me telling him that only 2 codes came up last time. He did not seem to care what was told me last time.
After I left, I called service and spoke with Mr. Butler and requested the codes via email and did not receive them until I negatively replied to a survey on how my visit went and told him that I was not please and I had yet to receive the codes he said he would send me. He sent them immediately.
My father-in law has been a mechanic for over 50 years and this even blew his mind. My husband purchased me my Volvo XC90 because I was pregnant and they were deemed to be safe vehicles. What good is it to drive a safe vehicle if you can’t trust your local Volvo service department to keep up the maintenance and keep you and your family safe?! At this point, I DO NOT trust them and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them!
I do plan to post my review across all social media platforms and contact my local news. It’s senseless that this has to happen but it’s the principle of it. If I can help someone else save time and money, I will.
