Took my Corolla hatchback (2021 6MT, with roughly 38k miles at the time) in one morning to have the transmission looked at, due to a really bad grinding shifting into second gear. I dropped it off at 6:50in the morning for a 9:00 AM appointment, and had to reach out to them at 1 PM to learn that their service manager only drove my car. At that point, their manager had decided that due to un-even tire wear and a modified exhaust, my transmission concern would not be covered under warranty. Upon a colleague of mine reaching out to the dealership, we were told that the service manager DID NOT drive my vehicle, that a “Field Specialist” (who corporate later told me was essentially there to revoke peoples’ warranties) drove it and made the call. Their service manager also claimed that I was out doing burnouts in my car. ( I love the car to death, but it really can’t even do one) At one point I was told that my transmission would need to be opened up and inspected to see if there would be a chance of warranty coverage. At a later point, I was told my clutch would need to be inspected, to see if there would be a chance of warranty coverage. All in all, I’m really not sure how this service shop is ran by the group of people it’s ran by. Telling a colleague of mine that HIS situation won’t be warrantied either “because parts are broken.” Not being able to keep their story straight about which portion of my vehicle needs inspected. And just in general poor communication and absolutely zero service or people skills. What a way to stand behind your product. More
