We had to order a car which took a little longer than I wanted but it happens. It was a pretty quick process once we picked it up. We ended up grabbing some lunch while they cleaned up the car and got pape wanted but it happens. It was a pretty quick process once we picked it up. I scheduled to take my Hilander in on December 3, 2022, at 7:30 AM, for routine service, oil change, oil filter change, air cabin change, fluid level change, etc. I was waiting in customer lounge when serv at 7:30 AM, for routine service, oil change, oil filter change, air cabin change, fluid level change, etc. I was waiting in customer lounge when service rep came out, told me I had bad battery, showed me a picture, on her phone, of a battery tester showing bad battery. She told me I would need battery replacement with a battery that ONLY Toyota made. Estimated cost of battery with installment was approximately $360. I declined. Service was completed. My car and battery had worked fine, no problems whatsoever, so I was very suspicious of a scam. After leaving dealership. I immediately went to a reputable auto parts store where I personally know manager. I told him I was concerned about battery, and requested battery evaluation. Battery was evaluated and was found to be strong, with ALL parameters, voltage, amperage etc normal. I believe a scam was attempted and failed. I have lost faith in this service department. Also, I was lied to about Toyota being only supplier of battery. Battery for this vehicle can be bought almost anywhere. I am a senior citizen, so I may look like easy prey. But not so. I am deeply offended! More
