Since 1990, I have been a loyal customer of Lexus of St. Louis, sister company of St. Louis Honda. Have always been treated well. My son needed a car, so I called St. Louis Honda Friday evening and was referred to Dave Gierse. I told him I am buying a black Honda Civic the following day. Saturday, I went to the dealership. Mr Gierse was busy with other customers. Mr Sam Martin waited on me. He was very helpful and very pleasant and understood that I was prepared. I was clear that I will not allow myself to go through the usual "back and forth". The manager still tried initially to do the usual routine but when Sam relayed to the manager that I will walk if I would be subjected to the usual "song and dance". My one and only offer was accepted (wayyyy below invoice including dealer installed extras for free). After politely rejecting the business manager's sales pitch for extended warranty and other extras, I paid the car in cash and I was out of the dealership with a new car in less than 2 hours from the time I walked in (could have been quicker but the car had to be prepped). I would recommend customers to look for Sam Martin, come prepared and know what you want. St. Louis Honda recognizes and will treat well an educated consumer. Thanks Sam More
Seven years ago, we bought a car from Kenny Rauth at this same dealership. We have been pleased with the dealership, so I called him the day we bought our new car to make inquiries. I chose St. Louis Honda based on price. I live approx. 200 miles away from St. Louis and was looking for a specific color CRV with a specific color leather. St. Louis Honda had the only one in a 5 state area. I called them and talked with Paul Hartge. Paul stated that he would check inventory and call me back with their price. Paul promptly called back with an offer. I counter offered, Paul ran it by his finance guy (I assume Jim Robishaw as this is who I dealt with for the final transaction). St. Louis Honda accepted my offer. I arrived the next day with a cashiers check for the CRV (which had been cleaned up nicely). I spent approx. 45 minutes filling out paperwork and going over the basics of the CRV with Paul. Since I wasn't from St. Louis they skipped the normal car dealer sales pitches for the "extras" (which I greatly appreciated since my time was short). So "why" do I rate St. Louis Honda so highly. I was kind of an unusual buyer (I think) and they adjusted their normal work routine to work with my needs. I had cash (so no financing) and was from out of town (so I wasn't coming back for little things or service as we have a Honda dealer in my hometown but they don't haggle on price much). I just wanted a no frills, easy car purchase at the best price and that is exactly what I got. More
It was great experinece to buy Honda CR-V from Ken. He was very friendly with me and my family. In particular, he didn't show some pushing attitude as buyers usually thought. My husband and I walked in the door of the St. Louis Honda dealership and was promptly greeted by Samual Martin. We explained to Sam exactly what we wanted to do which was only to look at a Honda Accor Honda dealership and was promptly greeted by Samual Martin. Sam was so knowledgable, helpful and friendly that we decided to test drive the Honda Accord eventhough we were literally on our way to purchase a Toyota Camry. My husband has a terminal cancer so I told Sam that we did not have time or energy to haggle. He respectfully submitted our bid and after a reasonable time came back and told us that our deal had been accepted. While we were waiting we were greeted by other salesmen and employees of St. Louis Honda (all nicely dressed in Honda shirts), who made us feel welcome. In addition we were offered snacks and water which we enjoyed on that hot day. Sam and his team were great to work with...they know how to provide quality customer service...I know because I also work in a customer service capacity. On my job we have regular training sessions on how to care for a customer, so it was nice to be on the receiving side of a quality customer service experience.
