Hello, I am sorry that you were not happy with your experience. No advisor would approve work to be done without prior approval by the customer. This is why we document everything. The advisor received authorization from your wife to go ahead and tear down the motor so we can see what was causing the issue. Once we performed this tear down, we were able to determine what the issue was and provided an estimate. You in turn declined to repair. The time for tear down/diagnosing was authorized and regardless of you wanting to do the repairs is still time the technician invested. I realize repairing anything today is expensive and not always affordable, but all repair shops charge for any time they work on a customers vehicle. Again, I am sorry you are not happ but we did everything we were authorized to do.

If you consider authorization by my wife approving a diagnostic with no estimate resulting in over $650 seems a little off. Last time I checked a diagnostic was an hour of labor and if more was needed an estimate of cost would be provided with an explanation of work to be completed. By your definition you could have removed the entire engine and charged me whatever you wanted. The reason for declining the repair was due to the obscene pricing to fix a well known issue on this engine. Had you provided a reasonable quote instead of trying to take advantage of my wife we would have just fixed it and continued to have a good relationship with you. Unfortunately that is not the case and we will be looking for another dealership to use in the future.

The charge was for 4 hours of tear down and this was conveyed and approved by your wife. This time can be verified with any Alldata or Mitchell book times, as we use industry time standards like very other dealer out there. To remove an engine and reinstall wouldn't even come close to that that time, meaning it would be a lot more time required. Again I am sorry there was disappointment and we truly wish you the best in the future.

You are missing the point - no estimate was provided all that was mentioned was a diagnostic. As this is a common problem and you have all of this software to track your time it should be simple to call and get approval with an accurate estimate. If you determined that you needed to rip the engine out during the diagnostic what would stop you as you had “verbal approval” for this diagnostic? I have never had a car serviced without an estimate for this very reason.

Hi Mike, Unfortunately, like we explained today and Chrysler confirmed on the phone when you were here, your vehicle did not come from the factory with Navigation. If the prior owner installed navigation via some software or app, we do not have that ability. Chrysler confirmed the vehicle never had navigation paid and activated by Chrysler. We are a servicing dealership and cannot override the manufacturer. I gave you the Chrysler customer service number so you can address with them directly. We are sorry, but its beyond any dealership capability to install an option that wasn't paid for through the manufacturer. We do sincerely appreciate you and thank you for your business. What I know is that the Navigation application was installed when I purchased the vehicle. I immediately created an account with UConnect and had all of the options including navigation activated. Over the years I have kept all of the software up to date, including purchasing and installing map updates. In fact I received an email yesterday about the 2021 update while you were telling me I wasn't authorized to have the navigation application. Since I last talked to you I have talked to UConnect twice and the map folks twice. I just got off the phone with Chrysler Customer Service. The person I talked to said that if the application was on the original unit it is the dealerships responsibility to install it on the new unit. It was on the truck when I bought it from Royal Gate Dodge and it was still there when I brought the truck to you for service.

Unfortunately Mike, that is incorrect. The dealership does not even have the capability to install an option that didn't come with the vehicle or paid for from Chrysler. The option would of been bought from Chrysler for $600 and added to the vehicle options on he vehicle. I spoke to Chrysler again just now and they confirmed that this vehicle has never had navigation and nobody has ever bought/paid for this option.

I managed to find someone at customer care who took the time to investigate and found that the application had been purchased for my vehicle. He put me in touch with the correct organization and the application is operational.

With that said, please remember a military discount is a business courtesy, many don't offer any discounts with the economy the way it has been. Also remember, we don't offer any discounts on menu priced, or maintenance items that are already priced at near cost. Other items such as warranty deductibles are never allowed to be discounted. Thanks for responding…I understand what you are saying and in all fairness you offer a 10% discount and I have gotten a few times…Thank you for that. My point was, I have asked(EVERY SINGLE TIME)the guys when I get there when I am standing outside “Do you give Military Discount?” “ We sure do, Thank you for your service” we have a great little chat which your guys are all very friendly and come to find out as well their Dad/Grandfathers have served and they say…”heck yes, you should alway ask, I tell my Dad/ Grandfather the same thing” So when I wait for my oil change, tire rotation that is 120.00…is it a big deal that it will be a $12 discount not really…guess to me it was the thought that I stood out there with only one other person had a great talk, he said he put it in the notes….the girl behind the counter was like….”well now he is on his phone so I can’t do anything about it” “Please sign here, have a great day” I guess it just rubbed me the wrong way… and after I got 4 calls/2 emails to give you a review, well shoot here ya go! And I do remember who I worked/talked to but your response says a lot. Will I come back and get my Jeep serviced, yes because you are Close and convenient. Thanks for all you do, your guys are always so nice your place is always clean. -KM

Thank you so much Kate. We sincerely appreciate you very much. I think there was some confusion and miscommunication on our part, and for that I apologize. We do offer a discount on actual repair work. Oil Changes, Tire rotations, Maintenance items, Menu priced items are not eligible for any discounts since they are already priced at cost or near cost. The price of synthetic oil is very expensive today. To be competitive and have customers coming back, we price the oil at cost. The only Labor that is collected is $15-$20. Our factory trained and certified technicians labor costs more than that, so we are already below cost for many of the basic maintenance items. Now if you have repair work done outside of maintenance items, we gladly will offer a Military discount. We sincerely appreciate everyone especially our valued customers. We honor all our Military people that make us proud! Have a great day and thank you!
