My credit union ended up taking longer than expected, but Chris held the car for me for over a week. When the check finally arrived, he drove 45 minutes to pick me up, and 45 min back to the dealership. He even went over the owner's manual with me and personally saw that my new car left the dealership in immaculate condition, with a full tank of gas.
