Absolutely awful experience dealing with DNT. Hours after taking delivery of my 2019 Nissan Titan, the Check Engine light illuminated. Can this be a coincidence or was it a known problem while in More

We want to clarify that we did respond to your son’s earlier review and expressed our sympathy for the situation. We truly wished there was something more we could have done, but because the vehicle was purchased as-is and the extended warranty was declined, our options were limited. This was a used vehicle with over 100k miles, and unfortunately unexpected issues can happen even when everything checks out at the time of sale. From our understanding, your son originally wanted the warranty, but after speaking with you (assuming you are “ibman64”), he decided not to take it. We completely understand how frustrating that must feel now. Anyone would be upset in hindsight, and we’re all human—sometimes we make decisions that don’t work out the way we hoped. We genuinely hope the truck is running well after the repairs. And just in case you’ve reconsidered, we are still able to help you add a warranty that would be honored at Nissan. If that’s something you’d like to explore, please let us know, ibman64.

You sold us a vehicle that was defective, likely why you were pushing the warranty so hard at the point of sale. I don’t want sympathy, your dealership needs to accept liability for the issues that occurred hours after delivery. I believe your dealership was aware of the EGR problem, found a way to reset the check engine message and deliver the vehicle. I am in the process of downloading the computers message history. If your dealership was knowledgeable of this problem, I will pursue every legal extent possible to hold your company accountable for damages. For other potential customers considering doing business with this dealership, carefully read this review and ask yourself several times, is this the kind of company you want to do business with?

Thank you for your review. We take accusations of misconduct extremely seriously, and we want to address your statements clearly and factually. First, we did not force a warranty on anyone. Your son spent over three hours inspecting the vehicle and made it clear he understood the truck inside and out. We offered a warranty at a fair price, and he openly acknowledged it was a good value. He ultimately chose to decline that protection based on outside advice. That was his decision, and it was fully respected. Second, we do not reset warning lights, clear codes, or attempt to conceal any mechanical issues. Our dealership follows strict procedures, and we have no knowledge of any EGR-related concerns prior to the sale. You are absolutely welcome to review any diagnostic history — we stand by the integrity of our process. We understand this situation is frustrating, but placing blame on the dealership does not change the facts. We are more than willing to review the matter directly with you, but we will only address it based on documented information, not assumptions.

What a pathetic dealership, you know what you’ve done and it’s a shame this is how you conduct business. The righteous approach taken supports you’re not interested in a fair amicable solution. Buyers beware!!!!!!

The main issue here is that you assumed we wouldn’t help simply because you advised your son incorrectly. Instead of reaching out to us to discuss the situation, both you and your son immediately went online to leave negative reviews, call us names, and accuse us of things that aren’t true. If you had contacted us and said, “Hey, this is unfortunate — the engine light came on. I know I declined the warranty, but is there anything you can do to help?” we absolutely would have stepped in and tried to assist. We’ve always been willing to help customers when they approach us respectfully. But you chose to call us crooks and bash us publicly before ever giving us the chance. Once again, the incorrect advice was given by you — and instead of guiding your son to call us so we could try to help, you guided him to attack us online. At this point, it’s a little late for that. We’re still waiting on the computer scan reading, by the way, ibman.

You guys just hate to be wrong. From the very first hours of delivery, all you did was remind us that we bypassed the extended warranty option, the vehicle has over 100K and it’s sold “as is”. Along with your best wishes and sympathy, we were left by ourselves to figure this out. You’ve done NOTHING other than remind me I could still transact the extended warranty if I would like to. I also rented a car the entire time the Titan was getting repaired. This transaction has caused me great hardship and all you’ve done is explain how “right” you are and remind us of the mistakes we’ve made. This is not CUSTOMER SERVICE. This explains my position to this point.

Dealer Network Trade responded

I’m not saying I’m “right”—I’m simply stating the facts. From the start, we clearly explained the vehicle was sold “as-is,” has over 100,000 miles, and that you bypassed the extended warranty option. That’s the reality of the transaction. Common sense would suggest that if someone leaves a negative review before giving us a chance to help, it makes it very difficult for us to step in and provide support. I believe you understand that, We empathize with the challenges you’ve faced, but our actions and explanations have always been grounded in transparency and the terms of the sale.

The purpose of the review to demonstrate our experience at your dealership. Potential future clients will consider all sides of the story and decide. Hopefully, their experience is significantly better than mine. As for the review itself, had your dealership demonstrated the slightest bit of compassion or empathy, the review and ongoing dialogue would not be necessary. Review or not, your dealership made zero effort of understanding the problem at delivery and attempt at helping us resolve it.

Hi Brandan Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I’m sorry to hear about the issue you experienced on your way back to Pennsylvania. As we discussed at the time of sale, we offered you a warranty at cost that would have covered situations like this. You declined after speaking with your father, mentioning that you were familiar with diesel trucks and that this one “checked out.” Regarding the dealership’s claim that the check engine light was cleared prior to purchase — we’re not sure what “magical machine” they’re referring to that can accurately determine when or how long ago codes were reset or deleted. The truck showed no active check engine light during our inspection or at the time of sale. I do understand this is a frustrating situation. However, the vehicle was sold used, with over 100,000 miles, and issues like this can occur — which is exactly why we offer our customers an excellent warranty option backed by the manufacturer at a great cost. I’m truly sorry you’re going through this, but I want to be transparent and fair. Please let me know if you’d like to discuss this further. Best regards, DNT Auto Sales
