The husband and wife were shown 4 different cars and some of those sport utility vehichles were either FWD(Front Wheel Drive) or AWD (All Wheel Drive). Many of these types of vehichles often look and ride the same. However during their week long search for a SUV they test drove several over night and did receive a clear copy of the CarFax report to help make their decision easier. We did send their trade in to the auction to be held for the next available auction. When we received the call that they weren't happy we immediately went and retreived their mini van from the auction. Our General Manager is out of town 3 days a week purchasing cars and was not able to talk to them until he returned. Unfortunatly we are human and do make mistakes. The sales man assumed what FWD meant is 4 wheel drive. The customer made a mistake by not thoroughly checking the facts of the one they liked. After driving several vehichles and taking a week to decide it is easy to get them mixed up. We did give them back their money and their van. It is unfortunate that we are given an unsatifactory response by this consumer. We hope this consumer would reconsider their review.

We did not test drive any front wheel drive vehicles knowingly. We always looked at the back to see the 4WD or AWD emblem and those were the type of vehicles we were test driving. Chad Engle knew we wanted All Wheel Drive or 4 Wheel Drive. Most vehicles have a AWD or 4WD on the back so you can tell. That is why when Chad showed us the 2011 red escape, we asked if it was 4WD because there was no emblem on the back. He stated "yes it is, the escapes do not have an emblem signifying that on the back". He said the carfax was clear and he would get us a copy when we returned with the vehicle. When we decided to buy it, we forgot to get the carfax and Chad did not offer a copy. So NO, WE NEVER SAW THE CARFAX but thought we could trust the dealer - our mistake. When we realized it wasn't 4WD we said we wanted out of the deal. Chad said our van was already sold and in fact he told us they got $3,100 for it (another lie). I feel they thought they could sell me a vehicle if my van was gone but I still had another vehicle I could drive while we started looking again. I can't believe a salesman thought FWD meant four wheel drive - if we had saw that, we would have known it meant front wheel drive. We did not have the vehicles mixed up - we knew exactly what we were looking for - it was the dealer that misrepresented the vehicle. We waited several days to hear from the dealer and finally just drove there and happened to catch the owner there. Chad said Terry was at the south store the day before and he could have easily picked up the phone to call us. He had our home phone and both of our cell phones. I will not reconsider the review I gave them, I felt it was more than justified because of what we went through with them.
