BUYER BEWARE! !! I purchased a car for my daughter from Divan auto group on Monday (9/30). The following day (10/1) my daughter took it to our mechanic to be check !! I purchased a car for my daughter from Divan auto group on Monday (9/30). The following day (10/1) my daughter took it to our mechanic to be checked out and when they put the car on a lift they found that the entire underside of the car, including the wheel wells, were extremely rusted. According to the mechanic this is typically seen in cars that have been in a flood. Obviously this had not been disclosed to us prior to purchasing and it was not possible for us to see the underside of the vehicle. We were of course told that the car had some rust and could see typical rust on the body for a used car. I promptly contacted Divan Auto Group, spoke to Dmitry, and requested to return the vehicle for a refund. Dmitry stated that Divan was aware of the rust and insisted that this was a "normal amount of rust for a used vehicle." The vehicle is 13 years old with 55,000 miles. Dmitry further stated that I could simply pay to replace all those rusted parts. I explained that no one purchases a vehicle and expects to immediately begin thinking about paying for repairs. Furthermore, our mechanic informed us that the cost to repair all those parts is more than the value of the vehicle. The salesman, Serg, also contacted my daughter by text and further attempted to convince her that this amount of rust was "normal" and that our mechanic was just exaggerating. This is a trusted mechanic that we have used for years and it serves them no good to lie or exaggerate. They would have benefited more financially from not saying anything and just getting paid for the repairs that are sure to come. Please be aware this business does not operate ethically and may be knowingly selling cars that have been damaged in floods. More
