After researching the situation, we're glad to learn that we were able to find and successfully address your truck bed power plug concerns. Our hope is that you w ill now be able to use this handy feature as needed without incident. Your intermittent low speed brake noise concerns are much tougher for us to address. GM will tell you a certain degree of brake squeak is OK under normal operating conditions and as such they rarely if ever participate towards addressing these concerns after a certain number of miles. We can and do recommend a customer pay aftermarket option that has proved to significantly reduce these types of noises. Apparently you declined this recommended option. Please know that we do appreciate your business and you can always count on us to shoot you straight. Hello Juan Gayton – Thank you for your recent visit to Don Hewlett Chevrolet. We’re sorry to learn from your lengthy comments that you are unhappy with the service provided on this visit. Just to review: You presented your 90,000 mile 2013 Suburban to us for a transmission service. This service was completed without issue in about an hour. 23 days later you contacted the dealership to report new concerns of ‘flapping sound’ and possible engine knock. It’s important to note that prior to any services being performed our techs noted that your vehicle had an engine misfire condition present. In response to your concerns we offered to diagnose the vehicle and clearly stated that if the current condition was found to be related to services performed here, there would be no cost to you. To further clarify – we also informed you that if the current engine concerns were found to be unrelated any/all diagnostics or repairs would be your responsibility. Faced with the possibility of spending more money towards repairs you refused to authorize our assistance efforts. For the simple fact that your vehicle had a preexisting engine concern, and that we were not allowed to inspect the recent work performed we do not agree that our store is fully responsible for charges related to diagnostic or repair of any related issues. We will again offer to ‘drop the pan’ in order to provide more information regarding the current condition of the vehicle and prove our work. If/When this inspection finds that there are unrelated causes for your current concerns – all subsequent charges will be your responsibility. This is a fair and equitable accommodation and we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this assistance offer. DH’s interesting culture on display. I think customers entrust their vehicles to your service and not present. About the 23 days, please remember that the entire state went through a historic winter storm, and many are still recovering. This includes my company which is also a family business, in fact we are still not 100%. Also in the tickets or receipts there is nothing that gives a time limit about asking about issues post-service. Plus your reply adds to the mockery about 'dropping the pan'. You all never made that offer, this is where you all put words in my mouth and those words again were me telling you all to do so, which is not true. It was an idea because your techs had washed their hands of all troubleshooting. And if you were to reply 'this is the Xpress shop, they don't diagnose vehicles'; then my reply would be how can they determine misfires and why were they troubleshooting with test drives? I am sure you'd have nice answers to these. Your comments about me spending more money, well yeah, why should I pay if the area you all handled is suspect? After this debacle, I went straight to my usual mechanic, and within 10 minutes he had several troubleshooting ideas. My mechanic gave no family biz speeches or mocked my efforts. I'll gladly pay my mechanic for diagnostics (don't want your 'free' diagnostics), any oil, and whatever else is needed. Plus I only dealt with my mechanic, not 5 people with no solutions.
