Let me start by saying we have been a Toyota & Honda family exclusively but that has changed after our visit. A several months ago my wife saw a new Kona and she really liked it. We had a Honda Element and we thought maybe it was time for an upgrade to something newer. So I did my due diligence online checking out many SUV's. I was pleasantly surprised to read such high vehicle & safety ratings for the Kona. I contacted Downey Hyundai about a model and color of a 2020 Kona. Daniel Staab in Sales got back to me and was so hospitable and requested we come and do a test drive plus bring in our Honda Element for possible trade in. Then my wife's father got sick and she needed to help him in Mexico. So I told Daniel we were on hold until my wife returned and he was gracious and totally understood but assured us he would be available if we needed his assistance. Then the pandemic hit and everything stopped for many months. Finally a couple weeks ago I see the new 2021 Kona's were coming out soon and I reached out to Daniel and he was ready to help. We wanted a 2021 Kona Limited in Surf Blue and he said he would try to find one. This is Sat. Aug. 1 and within a hour he says he has found our Kona Limited and asks if we can bring our trade in and put together a deal. So I go in the next day and Daniel is very attentive, smart, and professional. He got the trade in value set in short order and soon Daniel and Sales Manager Paolo Figari and I were discussing deal points. They did a terrific job being transparent about all aspects of the deal and explaining clearly. They understand the nuances of deal making for customer satisfaction and a positive outcome. Within a couple hours we had every part of the deal in order and Internet Dir. Adam Hijazi was making arrangements to get our Kona. I was very impressed how smoothly and carefully they were doing business (better than most). On Aug. 3 my wife and I went to pick up our new Kona Limited and we are so pleased. The Kona's are so fun to drive and we think very stylish ... my wife LOVES it!! Best new car deal I've ever been involved in and I would have to credit Daniel for his generous attitude & professionalism that kept us interested to work with him. Also, must give a shout out to General Manager Moe Saab who explained to us the details of the Vehicle Service Contract and making us feel comfortable with it through his concern for our customer satisfaction. Lastly, we were very concerned about safety protocols for covid 19 at the dealership and they always showed carefulness. Thank you to the Downey Hyundai Team. We will highly recommend others to you. Response time was quick! Anthony got the cars ready for test driving on time and kept us updated throughout the process. Toni (finance) was thorough and respectful. He quoted my cost and applied my wild card coupon I had given him after discussing all that was required. I signed the paperwork and left with my wife who was waiting for me. When I arrived back that afternoon to pick up my vehicle I went to the cashier who gives me a total that was higher than what I was quoted by Pedro. She called him and he took me back to his work station to figure out that she did not apply my wild card coupon which reflected an $80.00 higher cost to me. I had no issues with Pedro's excellent service however, I'm curious as to how many people just don't pay attention and end up paying more because your cashier doesn't pay attention?? More
