Through this DealerRater.com program perhaps we can work with you to resolve the concerns that you have. I clearly remember your service visit and was attempting to do everything I could to personally assist you with your concerns. Please note that I have been the Service Manager at Rusty Wallis Volkswagen for 15 years and we have consistently maintained the highest level of customer satisfaction of any dealer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for many years in a row. This does not mean, however, that we are perfect and we are always looking for ways to improve our ability to make our customers happy. We want you to be happy as well. Addressing your concerns, I will start with the issues in which we were clearly at fault, which were: The battery was installed crooked, the battery hold down bracket was not properly installed, and the battery cover was broken. We have apologized already for these concerns and also offered to straighten the battery and hold down for you. This offer was declined. We also did order a new battery cover for you and I believe that this part was mailed to you at your request. If you have not received this cover please let me know and I will follow up on this. I was not aware of the daytime running light concern and the interior light concern until reading your review. Have you contacted anyone at Rusty Wallis concerning these items? If not, please call me when convenient and I will arrange to have these concerns diagnosed at no charge to you to determine what repairs are needed. Concerning the battery, I do feel we followed the correct diagnostic process by addressing the battery issue first. Your battery was clearly testing defective and without proper battery power no other electrical test would have been valid. I was happy to assist you to take the battery back to Pep Boys and it is a good thing I did go with you. Had I not insisted that they do a more detailed check of that battery, we would have been putting a defective battery back in your VW. I do not know why their initial test showed the battery was good; however, the hydrometer test of the 6 individual cells of the battery confirmed the Rusty Wallis test which showed defective cells. We installed the AutoZone alternator for you and time will reveal if that alternator will last as long as the original equipment VW alternator lasted. I do acknowledge that you did incur a considerable savings on the part price. We have very little control of the VW part prices at the dealership level. In conclusion, we do want you to be a satisfied customer and I will be happy to work with you to address the additional issues with your VW. Perhaps we can resolve your concerns and then you will be able to revisit your DealerRater.com review and give upgrade the score to a more satisfied status. Best Regards, Dan Turk, Service Mgr.
