Was Paul Conte Chevrolet now East Hills Chevrolet of Freepor I held off writing this review, because I wanted to be fair, but it is extremely difficult to turn the other check when you pretty much have been bull I held off writing this review, because I wanted to be fair, but it is extremely difficult to turn the other check when you pretty much have been bullied by a corporation and the dealership. If anything, I just hope I am doing a public service by letting people know how GM is not making quality products as they claim and how they let there dealerships run poorly. So on to my story. I brought in my daughters 2009 Chevy Malibu to East Hills Chevrolet in Freeport, Long Island to be diagnosed for transmission problem at a rate of $600. 00 just to diagnose the issue. After waiting 6 weeks (excuses below) it turns out that I need a whole new transmission 1. Week one there is a vehicle on the lift, “yours is next” 2. Week two Dominick the service manager is no longer working here and the transmission specialist has left, 3. Week three we have a few cars with transmission issues, again yours is next. Spoken by Mark, now the new service manager 4. Week four no reply from dealership. 5. Week five after calling GM customer support Ms. Sandra, e-mails the dealership and I get a call from Dawn the client relation person. 6. Week six finally someone tears down the transmission and I’m told I need a whole new transmission, a whopping $3,900 without GM assist. 7. Week seven I get the car back, but had to bring the car back due to windshield fluid indicator warning light, and the wheel well cover falling off while driving. I did extensive research and come to find out that there is a common problem with 2009 Mailbu’s, Equniox’s, Saturn’s that the wave plate goes and you cannot go in reverse, 3rd or 4th gear. The exact issue my daughters car is having. In 2015 GM made a special coverage adjustment to cover this issue, but my daughters car was passed over yet it is the same problem. I even checked the Nation Highway Safety sight and they have recorded complaints from other customer’s with the same issue that GM conveniently are not covering. This is a shame and should be investigated, why skip certain vehicles for that year when clearly others are reporting the same issue. It would be great if you can get East Hills Chevrolet and GM’s to fix the issue without cost to the customer More

Good salesman, terrible service Over a year ago, i bought a one year old used car from them, and had issues right away. half way home, i noticed the gas tank was literally almost emp Over a year ago, i bought a one year old used car from them, and had issues right away. half way home, i noticed the gas tank was literally almost empty, and when i got all the way home, i noticed there was no spare tire. The salesman later offered me a voucher for about seven gallons of gas (less than half a tank) from the station across the street from the dealership, which was an inconvenience for me. But since i had to go all the way back there to get my spare tire from them, i didnt complain. my major trouble occurred the next day after i bought the car. the hands free bluetooth system stopped working. They looked at it and said they couldnt fix it, since the used car i bought was not the make they sold there new. however, they did own several dealerships, one of which sold the make i bought. I made an appointment and brought it all the way up there, and told them what needed to be replaced, after researching it on the internet and finding out it was a major, well known issue for that model year. They claimed they never heard of the issue, so they reset the radio and sent me on my way. Of course, the next day the problem came back. i came back (my fourth trip back to the dealership to resolve issues) for my appointment to check it out further. They agreed that it was probably just what i said it was the prior visit, and said they had to order the part. AFter me calling them for a couple of weeks wondering why i havent heard from them, they said i had to wait until i had my car one month so my third party extended warranty would kick in and cover the repair. This was ridiculous, since the problem became known when i had the car less than 24 hours. i now had to wait a month for the repair to be covered when they should have fixed it my first trip there, at their expense. When i did get my warranty in effect, i took it to a local shop to get the work done. i did not want to see them profit off of their terrible customer service. If they just fixed the issue when i first got the car, i would have given them a great review. The deal went smooth, the old guy in the finance office was great, the car was clean and ready for original pickup on time. The whole service experience was disappointing and i will never again give them a chance at my business. if the salesman would have just straightened it out with the service department, and somehow just made sure i had a completely properly functioning car i would have been a happy customer. I am not going to get into to much detail. so here it is. Engine light 2013 Sonic LTZ automatic. 1) appointment 07/21 9:15 a.m.: writer says around lunch time he will know. 3 hours to check the car, why make an appointment?? No call by 1 p.m. so I call.... he's out to lunch... speak with manager who says they will call me back... 10 minutes later (the only prompt return call) I am told they are replacing a part. I pick car up a couple hours later. * I use my car for house to house work. 2) 07/22 engine light goes back on, writer not at desk, manager tells me to bring it in first thing in morning. 3) 07/23 8:30 a.m. After a little over an hour writer says it "might" be a part or might not, the light might go back on or it might not. If it does, bring it in and you will have to leave it. Later that day speak to service manager who didn't want to give me a loaner and wanted me to bring it back in for an hour... hahaha.. You already had it for "hours". Give me a loaner and you can keep the car until you fix it, I can't make bringing you my car a part time job. He says he will call me back in about an hour. 4) 07/24 No call from service manager so I call late afternoon (over 24 hours after original call), He says he will call me back when he has a loaner Monday or Tuesday........... 5) 07/31/2015... yes it's Friday and no one has contacted me. what is really sad, there is 5 Chevy's in front of my house and one of them was purchased at this location. There are 2 that they receive the warranty work from, but I guess that is not good enough to receive the minimal courtesy of a return call from a "Chevy" representative. I am 100% pro American made stuff so it hurts to say something negative about an American company... AGAIN! 6) this part and further into the review were written 08/09... I received a call an hour or so after step 5 of this story 07/31. "The sonic is still not running right?" "Bring it in on Monday and we will have a loaner for you". Drop it off 08/03 and receive a sonic for a loaner that read over 20 MPG.. (foreshadowing). 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 days later (That is totally o.k. with me, I have a loaner I just want the car fixed... take your time!!) Pick up the car mid Friday after noon (08/07/2015). THE CAR SMELLS LIKE MECHANIC SWEAT!! I think because it was just in the shop it will air out.... following day jump in the car to do some work.. (House to house inspections). Car Smells so bad I am going to wash it myself because no Car Wash will rub down the inside as good as I think it needs to be.. After I drive around local the Car reads less then 15 MPG!!!!!!!!! I take the hose out to wash the car and see the front body bumper cover is loose and not fully in place!!!!!!!!! Now after I take care of Work Monday Morning I have to Drive the Car back into this Service center again!!! The More I take it there the worse it is getting!!! Honestly a few months ago I firmly believed Purchasing and owning "New" cars made more sense due to manufacturer warranties and knowing were the car has been and how it was used. New outlook.... I've been ripped off just for the fact the going price of my car is less then 50% of purchase price from 2 years ago and the safety of "warranty" is more of a nuisance then a comfort. So far this has been a 3 week story and I don't know if it is going to get any better any time soon. 12 p.m. 08/10/2015 walk into service. Service writer says they didn't touch the bumper cover... intentionally or not what ever.. it's cosmetic. The car is only getting 15 MPG, it's not running right. Service writer: "You brought the car in because of the engine light, the engine light is off". Me: "The car is a 20 + MPG car, there is something wrong". Service writer: "If there was something wrong with the car a sensor or something would tell us. the car is fine" The "GM" left the room sometime in the early part of the conversation. I guess the rant about the horrendous stink in the car when I picked it up didn't' warrant acknowledgment.. this place is a joke from top to bottom. Let me stress one more time... the "Service Manager" never called me once after he said he would twice"'. Car Runs Worse then when I brought it there!!! More
