Dishonest and terrible I had spent a lot of time at the dealership in Roseville looking for a specific vehicle I thought they had available. Not the salesman's fault but the vehicle they had shown me was a pre-order from someone else and wasn't available. I explained my situation to Gary, who expressed that he was the manager and I was in good hands, and assured me they had the vehicle I was searching for. I DOUBLE confirmed this was the case, explaining my recent situation and that I didn't want to drive to Elk Grove if they were not able to fulfill the vehicle needs I was after; nor did I want to have him try to sell me something I didn't want after realizing the didn't have it. After several confirmations I drove down to Elk Grove, Lasher Dodge "the big guy". What a horrible experience, Gary's product knowledge: Horrible. Customer Service: Horrible. Honesty: Horrible, Attitude: Horrible. A waste of time, gas and not going to an honest dealership that had what they said they had. Gary, it's Ben in the white ford, please know who this is, as you completely wasted my time and my level of competency in a dealership that seemed to have several respectful employees and I was just unlucky enough to get you. Further, we looked on their intranet for the vehicles they "had" as he explained this is how they do things at a dealership as busy as they are, then when he had no stock numbers he suggested I drive him around to look for his inventory. When we went to the lot, he asked a sales guy what the codes meant on the internet, this is coming from the good hands manager, and after being schooled by him we went looking for the vehicle. As suspected, the vehicle DIDN'T exist and Gary was living up to the reputation of a slime ball car salesman at the expense of the dealership. I wasted over an hour walking around (as he complained about hating to walk to look for a $50k + purchase) looking for a truck that didn't exist so he can say "I'll give you a deal on one that we have". Stay with honest dealerships that hire, and train, honest employees. I am now looking at Dave Smith Motors in Idaho, as well as Woodland, Auburn, Roseville and others as they were honest and friendly, a lot more than I can say than my experience with Gary at Lashers.
