Shifting issue with transmission turned out to be a battery that needed replacement. No reason was given as to why the battery “failed” a test, considering there wasn’t a known issue with the battery p battery that needed replacement. No reason was given as to why the battery “failed” a test, considering there wasn’t a known issue with the battery previously, car started & drove, etc. I get it because the original battery was 4+ years old & no other “faults” were detected. Okay so we approved replacement of a BMW battery, which is what we were quoted. We go to pay & pick up our car & at this point we’re told that Ferman BMW replaced it with an Aftermarket battery, not a BMW factory battery. The Service Advisor blew it off like it was no big deal, yet everywhere you look on BMW North America or any BMW dealer website, BMW talks up their “Original BMW” parts, including batteries. Lack of communication is why I’m rating this low. It’s a battery, apparently with the same (?) 2 year parts warranty, so probably not the biggest deal. First off, tell me BEFORE you replace it that the BMW battery is on back order. Secondly, explain why it’s really not a big deal, since apparently I’m not getting the same “quality” part that BMW websites hype so much. Don’t let me leave questioning my choice in using Ferman BMW to begin with. More

The service assistants outside greet you quickly and get you to your service adviser. Sal, my service adviser always gets my paperwork started quickly so that I can be on my way.
