On May 29th, I decided to go to the dealership to check out a car I had seen online (they had been sending me information about it for nearly two months, though I still wasn't sure about it). The salesperson, Juan, specified that the dealership had performed some maintenance on the car, such as replacing the brakes, changing the oil, and putting on new tires. I drove the car home that day, but a week later I returned because the brakes were making a lot of noise whenever I pressed the pedal. They told me the issue was resolved; I drove the car for another week, but the noise persisted. I went back to the dealership, and they gave me the option to go for a drive with the mechanic so he could hear the noise and feel the vibration when I braked. They told me it was fixed. Four days before the dealership's temporary permit expired, I called to ask if I could register the car and why no one had contacted me to let me know if the paperwork was ready. A finance manager told me, "It's here," and sent me a photo via text message. Naturally, I confronted him, asking why he was only letting me know the paperwork was ready now that I had called. It was a Friday, and the permit expired on Monday... 😤. That was how things stood. I called Michael (in the service department) again to confirm that the brake noise and vibration were still issues with the car; he replied that there was nothing he could do. I decided to take the car to a different VW dealership for an inspection; they showed me a video proving the brake rotors were completely worn out. They also confirmed that someone had previously worked on the rotors—but only to mask the problem—so they could hand the car over to me looking as if the work had actually been done. I took the VW dealership's inspection report to Findlay Acura, the dealership where I bought the car, and in short, they called me a liar and crazy. They said they had no intention of fixing anything. It’s disgusting, it’s a rip-off, they’re shameless—a garbage place to buy a car. More
