I’m writing this review now that my Jeep (yes, that’s the first problem, I know) has been sitting at Flow CDJR for almost two months. The length of time is frustrating, but the lack of communication has been first problem, I know) has been sitting at Flow CDJR for almost two months. The length of time is frustrating, but the lack of communication has been the biggest issue. I’m a repeat customer, and unfortunately this is the second time I’ve brought my Jeep here for the same problem. The first time, in early July, I was told nothing was wrong but was offered a $300 computer system update, which I paid for. The problem continued and worsened. The Jeep would randomly lose acceleration and downshift, usually at highway speeds, sometimes refusing to go above 50 mph or shift back into higher gears. Eventually, this happened daily and forced me to pull onto the side of I-64. Timeline: July 31: The Jeep downshifted and would not go above 35–40 mph on I-64. I no longer felt safe driving it, so I brought it back to Flow CDJR for diagnosis. August 4: I was told two technicians had driven it but couldn’t recreate the issue. I explained that it usually happens after the Jeep has been driven for a while and is warm. I drive an hour each way to work, so I offered to have someone drive it longer, including driving it home and back. August 11: I was told they had “got it to act up,” but it was working again by the time they got it back into the shop. I explained that turning it off and back on or letting it sit temporarily resolves the issue. August 13: I called for an update and was told they had successfully recreated and diagnosed the problem. No one contacted me before I called. They were working with my warranty on coverage. August 19: I was told the repair was covered and the part would arrive the next day. August 21: I was told the wrong part had been quoted and ordered. The correct part was backordered with no ETA, though they were trying to get it shipped express. There were also still no loaners available. August 26–September 21: The part’s ETA repeatedly changed. I eventually received a loaner on September 7, but the part was delayed again on September 10 and September 15. On September 21, I was told it still had not arrived but was “expected any day now.” My Jeep remains at the shop with no realistic return date. I understand that backordered parts and delays can be outside the shop’s control. However, I do question whether the vehicle was properly marked as OTR with the parts supplier. It was unsafe for me to drive, and given the repeated delays and changing ETAs, it is difficult to understand how this could have been properly escalated. My biggest frustration has been communication. Almost every update came only after I repeatedly called, left voicemails, and asked for a callback. I have repeatedly asked to be notified about changes to the diagnosis, warranty, part ETA, loaner availability, etc., yet I still have to chase down every update. Most of the time, no one answers the phone. Even more frustrating, there have been multiple occasions when my dad called on my behalf (which I appreciate) and received a much more extensive update than I was able to get myself. He does not own the vehicle, is not on the loan, and has no financial involvement in it. I do. Yet it has repeatedly felt like his calls are taken more seriously than mine. Yes, I’m just a girl, but it has unfortunately left me wondering whether I’m being taken seriously. Delays happen. Backordered parts happen. What shouldn’t happen is having to repeatedly call just to receive basic updates about a vehicle that has been sitting in your shop for nearly two months. I’m relieved they eventually found the problem and that it wasn’t the worst-case repair. I still hope they complete the repair correctly and thoroughly so I can feel confident driving my Jeep again. Unfortunately, the communication and customer service throughout this process have been extremely disappointing. More
They steal your money tell you they send a refund check for difference and they don't and you. Can't get them to answer or call back for difference and they don't and you. Can't get them to answer or call back More
If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT USE THEM. Lying, bait and switch, overcharging, and damaging a customer's vehicle. For the full story about what happened, keep reading but ju DO NOT USE THEM. Lying, bait and switch, overcharging, and damaging a customer's vehicle. For the full story about what happened, keep reading but just know those issues listed is only the tip of the iceberg. No one at Flow has any integrity and I urge caution before letting these clowns work on your car. I have had several issues with this service department, but this one takes the cake and if I had another option I would go there. I took my car in because I was getting a knock sensor error code. A few days later I got a call letting me know they diagnosed it as needing a new wiring harness due to a short, along with the knock sensor. Knowing how much work a wiring harness is, I begrudgingly agreed to the quote of $1000 and told the parts should be in the next day. I got a call later in the day telling me that they got the part in and a different issue came up. While doing the work they did something causing the PCM to fry in my car. I did not have an issue with it prior to taking it in. When the advisor called me to tell me the issue he also said I am responsible for a $1500 repair. While I was still digesting what he just told me he offered up that the service manager could call me on Monday. At first I wasn't even going to request that, so him just offering it up didn't sit well with me. I did agree to having the manager call me and until then I looked up information on the PCM being fried and it does seem like the dealership most likely caused the issue. When the service manager, Tim, called me on Monday he denied the tech did anything that would have caused this. He doubled down and said how much the repair would be. While speaking to him, I asked what parts they installed (they often have tired ordering me the wrong parts), so he gave me the information. Instead of installing the wiring harness that they said they would they repaired only the 1 wire with a wiring kit. This should have resulted in a fraction of the cost but they didn't reduce it at all. I had to say something for them to get it to a more reasonable amount. This is the same type of bait and switch stuff this dealership has tried before too, which is why I am skeptical of them and yet again I catch them in a lie. They should have either waived the first repair, or done no charge on the second repair since their guy caused this issue. They of course are going to deny it because they don't want to cover the repair, but if they were honest they would have owned up with the issue. This whole situation didn't just anger me enough to write the review, but it is borderline causing them future purchases because rather than deal with this corrupt family of car dealerships I would rather go elsewhere. Horrendous customer service. More
Horrible service. I visited the service department after being told over the phone that diagnostic on my car would take 1 hour. 1 hour 45 mins later I was told that th I visited the service department after being told over the phone that diagnostic on my car would take 1 hour. 1 hour 45 mins later I was told that they needed more time. They said they needed HOURS. I had two young children with me….hours more was not going to work. They then “nicely” returned my car to me asking me to come back another day that I had more time…more time? I thought you needed 1 hour. I would have never planned my visit to the dealership this way if I would have known the service wait time. I was then informed by the service department that they didn’t give me my wait time, the call center did and if I wanted a better ETA I should have asked to speak when them directly. I called to speak with the manager about this experience and the issue with the call center/actual location….it’s been 48 hours and I still have yet to hear from the dealership. THEY DON’T CARE! People ask my husband and I if we work for Dodge because of all of the Dodge vehicles we’ve had. I’m so disappointed with this experience. This is my second poor experience at this dealership. Please learn from my mistakes and think twice about purchase/service at this dealership. More
I brought my Ram 3500 truck in for a simple oil change and they damaged my truck and rear tail light. The light didn't even stay in on the way home. The manager Mark, did everything to not take responsibi and they damaged my truck and rear tail light. The light didn't even stay in on the way home. The manager Mark, did everything to not take responsibility for the damage done to my truck. This is an extremely dishonest dealership, from the staff to the managers. They refused to make it right. I'm disheartened to feel that such a large company could treat their new customers this way. I should've read the 1 star reviews prior to bringing my truck in. Additionally, I had an appointment at 9am and was at the dealership until 11:30am. I made an appointment because I had a baby and didn't want to spend hours at the dealership. They also made many recommendations and told me my air cabin filter was needing to be replaced and I had my 150k service completed less than a month ago which included everything additional they wanted to add on. Making unnecessary recommendations, being dishonest and not taking accountability for their mistakes must be in their training policies and procedures. More
BUYER BEWARE: IF YOU ARE CAR SHOPPING PLEASE TAKE A LOOK.I just want to let everyone know to be very careful when buying a used vehicle at Umansky in Charlottesville specifically the dodge jeep dealers LOOK.I just want to let everyone know to be very careful when buying a used vehicle at Umansky in Charlottesville specifically the dodge jeep dealership. Back in September I purchased my jeep from there. The first strike was when they refused to negotiate the price of the vehicle... fine I still bought it. However once at home I discovered a tag that was originally hanging in the window with a price of $1,000 dollars less then what I paid. When I called and confronted them about this I was given the run around. First I was told by a salesperson that they do daily check on “the market” and within a couple days of it being on the lot that the market for this particular vehicle went up therefore the price increased. I was then told that they made repairs therefore they had to bump the price up, this was from the GM. Within a couple days I noticed several issues that would come and go. The unlock button on the drivers side worked when it wanted to, the knob on my gear shift continued to pop off as I was driving and changing gears, my parking brake was not holding and when I turned my heat on ice cold air was blowing out. The jeep also has a tendency to not want to start right off and acts as if it is flooded out after being ran and cut off for brief time frames. I notified the dealership and they said they “stood behind their vehicles.” Fast forward I bring it in and they have it for roughly 2 weeks. They said they weren’t going to fix the electrical issue with the unlock and lock button because it was too expensive to fix so they “met me in the middle” and fixed the knob and heat. They stated there was nothing wrong with my jeep and was unable to explain why it was acting the way it was when I tried to start it after driving it and cutting it off. My heat is now warm but cuts on and off sporadically, the high beam headlights get stuck at times and won’t dim, the jeep still acts like it’s flooded out from time to time.. and the list goes on. The brake also has failed since it was fixed. I was at my sisters house on fairly level part of the driveway with great distance between me and her boyfriends car. I ran inside for 5 minutes came out and my jeep had rolled into her boyfriends car. 😠 The GM told me his hands are tied as they already “dumped a pile of money into this” before putting it on the lot. Sounds like to like to me they knew it was a lemon. therefore instead of selling it when it whn it was traded in it should’ve been sent to an auction and sold as is. I put a small fortune down on this and have 6 years to pay on it and they do not seem to care. The GM acted like he was going to do something to help me out when talking to him face to face but unfortunately he is ignoring the messages I have sent him since Friday when I last saw him. I did purchase a warranty that has a 500 dollar deductible for each claim. I bought it intending to save myself if something major happened two years from now. Not within days / weeks of owning the vehicle. These problems were known about and were there before I ever test drove the vehicle. I just want people to be aware. I should’ve been more cautious. If I wanted a piece of junk I would’ve went to a whole sale lot or the Central Virginia Auto Auction for that matter, bought something cheaper and took my chances. This place wants to have the same reviews and reputation as a buy here pay here lot, that thrive off of ripping off innocent people. On another note I’ve had great experiences with the Steven auto group in Harrisonburg in past years and will continue to take my business there after dealing with this xxxxxxxx. This was my second purchase from Umansky and it will be my last. More

We traveled many miles north of us and visited several dealerships but didn't feel good about doing business with any of them. I decided to do another search and found my vehicle right in my own backyard, as it were. James M., my sales rep, responded to the inquiry I placed on the aforementioned website. We set up a morning appointment for the next day. From the moment I walked in, on the test drive, and eventually sealing the deal, the experience was as pleasant and smooth as one can expect. James was robustly accommodating, friendly, but not high pressure at all. The staff in the finance department were a pleasure to work with as well. They exceeded my expectations on my financing needs. As for the vehicle. It was in tip-top shape: clean, serviced and ready for its new owner... namely yours truly. I am a very happy customer and without reservation recommend Umanksy (formerly Brown) Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep. More
