Shady, beware! She asked for our help and we agreed and we encouraged her to research on her own the car she wants, visit the dealerships, etc. We cautioned her to not make decisions or get pressured in to a sale without our assistance. She visited Tynan's, met with Tony (who she was convinced would treat her right because he "liked her") who ran her credit and confirmed that she could buy a new car. At her bidding we followed up on her visit, via email- our preference b/c we have bought several new vehicles over the years and now have multiple children, busy jobs, and are unable to go through the dealership routine and shenanigans when negotiating the price and purchase of a car. This is not our first rodeo. My wife in particular, fell for EVERY trick in the book when she was a young adult and learned the hard way all the ways car dealers can and will take advantage of naïveté. So, point is, we want to negotiate via email. So we confirmed the family members credit with all three reporting agencies, researched what credit score would get her promotional rates, the average invoice cost of the car, what was a reasonable price to pay, etc.etc. and contacted Tynan's ready to start negotiating. We were direct about wanting to negotiate via email, why, and that we were assisting the family member. We were direct in the numbers we were looking at and what we hoped to do. We've purchased cars this way before, with Toyota in 2013, and Honda in 2011...we were VERY happy with these buying experiences and are committed to doing it this way now and in the future. Mike responded to our email and agreed to negotiate via email, then Tony became involved and the following emails involved them both insisting on getting the family member back to the dealership to test drive, make decisions, consider options...repeated declarations to "trust them", "we will make sure she gets every promotion and deal available" (b/c that's all that's involved with getting a good deal on a car??), "we have several steps to go before she's ready to buy a vehicle", and 5 or 6 more email exchanges and 6+ hrs later we had no info and a collection of emails asserting the family member needed to go into the dealership in person, give them verification of her address and then verification/documentation of income. Finally, right before closing, they asserted that confidentiality laws prohibited them from talking to us. Sigh. No numbers...nothing even hypothetical, yet they wanted confirmation of her confidential income info? Address? It was a bizarre exchange and the following interactions did not improve. At the same time they were wasting our time via email (and proving why we prefer to negotiate via email than to deal with this malarkey in person) Tony was calling our family member- at least three times- pressuring her to deal with him directly and referring to her as "girl", as though they were best friends. It felt predatory to us...between the emails to us and the calls to the family member all their efforts were focused on getting her back to the dealership and dealing with them directly without us. When my wife called to discuss the following day she was upset because none of this made sense...we NEVER had this hassle with Toyota or Honda and Kia wasn't willing to work with us at all. Mike asserted that my wife didn't know what she was taking about and "she needed to stop talking so [he] can tell [her] how this works". He then acted incredulous that we would feel offended and distrustful at this point and proceeded to tell her "we have a problem" if we expected to complete the majority of the negotiations via email or phone, "because that wasn't going to happen". My wife was "educating" Mike that as an informed consumer we absolutely felt we had a right to dictate what sort of shopping experience we would engage in, when Keith got on the phone and basically engaged in similar, terse, uncomfortable, and antagonistic banter with my wife. After forcing our family memeber to call them to confirm that they could work directly with us, they, A. gave us numbers for a lease, then B. gave us financing rates that were not competitive or reflective of the financing deals we KNOW she qualifies for (have visited other Kia dealers) but with a reasonable deal on the cost of the car, then C. provided a competitive rate but took the deal on the cost of the car away and refused to offer anything less than the car at MSRP. At that point we declined to work with the dealership further b/c it's clear they do not want to work with us. We were put in an incredibly awkward situation in trying to negotiate with these salesmen who basically personified every bad car salesman stereotype out there. We're not sure why they were so unwilling to offer our family member a reasonable deal on the vehicle...there behavior is even more noteworthy because two other area dealerships, and three in the Denver metro area have been incredibly accommodating in their negotiations with us. Tynan's doesn't deserve accolades or your business. More

From the very outset, we were clear that we would not make a decision/purchase at that time. Despite that (repeated several times), we were 'politely' pressured (several times). We eventually decided to purchase (a Subaru) elsewhere, based largely on factors which we had consistently stated as important to us. By phone, and in person, the Kia sales rep was not quite but almost surly, particularly in denigrating Subaru in general. We expect dignity and respect when we do business. We did not feel respected; and the demeaning of worthy competition was very unprofessional. More

He did a great job of explaining all the features of the car to me. He made buying a new car fun! I had a lot of questions and he was happy to answer all of them. Overall I was very happy with my leasing experience. I got a wonderful car that will last me a long time. I also like that I have the option to trade it in in 3 years. Everyone at Kia was friendly. I felt like family when I left. Their service department was also very helpful and professional. I would be happy to recommend anyone else to Tynan's Kia! More

Stirred, Not Shaken - Brilliant buying experience Returning from two years in Kenya, I needed a proper Colorado all-weather vehicle, and I had my mind set on a Subaru. I stumbled upon Tynan's during Returning from two years in Kenya, I needed a proper Colorado all-weather vehicle, and I had my mind set on a Subaru. I stumbled upon Tynan's during my search for a used Subaru actually. Mike D. responded to my online request for information and followed up with just the right amount of tenacity - no hard sell. We perused the lot and found a little Kia Sportage that ended up meeting my needs (Colorado vehicle with safety ratings and able to fit the frame of my growing 6'2" teenager). I really appreciate the patience and flexibility offered at Tynan's in Fort Collins, especially Mike ability to delicately challenge and stir my preconceived ideas about vehicles. It help me drive away a happy Kia owner. Thanks Mike and everyone at Tynan's. It truly was a great buying experience. More

Best Experience Ever Despite being 1200 miles away, Mike treated me like I was his next door neighbor. Mike not only provided the best in customer service, but his end goal was to ensure I was a happy car owner. And I was extremely happy. The car was as described to me, perfect in every way. Mike even took care of the little issues knowing that the small things can add up and make for a bad experience. There should be more sales people like Mike: His attitude, demeanor, ethics, and follow through were nothing but exceptional. More
