I’m sorry you left with this impression and that you’re still dealing with a rattle. I want to be very clear: we do not scam our customers, and we take these kinds of accusations seriously. When you brought your car in last December, our technicians diagnosed the issue and replaced the part that was causing the problem at that time. Since then, you hadn’t reached out about any ongoing issues until now, six months later. Even so, we’re committed to standing behind our work and taking care of our customers. That’s why we’ve already offered to diagnose your vehicle again at no charge, to figure out what’s going on—whether it’s related to the original repair or something new. We have nothing to hide, and we always want customers to feel they’ve been treated honestly and fairly. If you’d like to set up a time to bring your car in, please let us know. We’ll do our best to get to the bottom of this for you. ~ Will Routon, General Manager @ Foundation Kia

Thank you for your reply, Will. You're. mistaken, though. The panel that your dealership charged me nearly $700 to replace did not fix either of the two noises for which I brought in the car. When I returned minutes after driving away the first time, the service advisor, Jeff, suddenly realized how to fix one of the noises: he simply lifted the tailgate and turned a small bumper on each side. One would think he could have tried that before replacing the panel. I drove away a second time and returned again, because the other noise persisted. Jeff then told me the new panel just needed time to settle in and that after a few days the noise would go away.... So, foolishly trusting him, I drove away. My mother then passed away on December 17, 2024, the day after I picked up the car from Foundation. I left town for several weeks to be with my elderly father. I've been back to see him every 4-6 weeks since then. So, you are correct, I didn't follow up because I simply didn't have the bandwidth to deal with the terrible service Foundation Kia provided. I imagine Jeff did not include in his notes how many times I called and texted and never got a response from him? Or how long I had to wait for the car after it was supposedly ready? Or that I returned twice because the noises were not fixed? Or that I was wondering what exactly I had paid for when they weren't fixed? Or that he just told me to call 1-800-333-4542 if I had an issue with paying for something that didn't resolve the presenting problem?

Let’s set the record straight. Tire Tread Measurement: You’re wrong. The legal limit for tire tread depth in Colorado is 2/32, not 5/32. Our measurement of 5/32 is well above that. Your so-called "evidence" is a misleading penny test taken at an angle, which is NOT an accurate way to measure tread depth. We use professional tools, not random pocket change. We have photos as well, but it doesn't appear Google allows us to post them in a review. Lojack & Repossession: The claim that we add Lojack to "track customers for repossession" is absurd. Lojack is a theft recovery system, not a repo device. Once a vehicle is sold, only the end user has access to it—NOT the dealer. Do some research instead of making illegitimate false claims. The Test Drive Incident & Lojack’s Real Purpose: We offer test drives without a salesman present as a convenience, but we also like to know where our cars are when someone promises to be back in 30 minutes and then doesn’t return for over an hour. You took the car at 3:15 PM, committed to returning by 3:45 PM, and at 4:45 PM—still gone—you were rude when my salesman followed up. That’s exactly why dealers and customers alike benefit from Lojack: knowing where a vehicle is when it’s unexpectedly missing. Fees: Every dealership has a handling fee—it covers costs associated with titling, registration, and documentation. If that’s a problem, then perhaps buying from a licensed, regulated dealership isn’t for you. Your review is full of falsehoods and exaggerations. We take transparency seriously, but we won’t sit back and let baseless accusations go unchallenged. ~ Will Routon, General Manager @ Foundation Kia
