Sadly typical used car buying experience Nice people (but what do you expect?). But, created problems by not understanding insurance requirements (solved the next day with my agent, fortunate Nice people (but what do you expect?). But, created problems by not understanding insurance requirements (solved the next day with my agent, fortunately). Then proceeded to hurt my credit by not honoring my requested lender (a local credit union they have worked with "tons of times"), and instead performed a hard pull across 6 lenders. The rate they quoted me was 1.5% higher than my credit union and I had to require them, to reprint the necessary paperwork and change lenders (after the credit damage was done). Finally, after reviewing all the price elements and almost being done with the purchase, they revealed a surprise fee for a security service. Yes, they technically disclosed it at (at the 11th hour), but it is an extra cost to me that provides no value and I was told could not be waived. While doing all these shabby things, I endured two hours of folksy stories, and somewhere near a dozen comments about how they are "not like other dealers" and "Mr. Medved is on the board of the dealer association." The final comment as I was handed the keys was to the effect that the salesman only made $100 on the deal. k. More
