After a rather disturbing "Hard Sell" experience with another South Carolina Dealership (Salesperson and Finance Manager), I resorted to the advice of EDMUNDS.COM to purchase a car On-Lin experience with another South Carolina Dealership (Salesperson and Finance Manager), I resorted to the advice of EDMUNDS.COM to purchase a car On-Line w/ an On-Line Sales Manager -- who turned out to be Christine Brunt. What a pleasure!!! Unlike a Georgia On-Line Salesperson I also submitted my info to for a 2013 CR-V, Christine immediately made a short phone call to introduce herself and said she would be sending me information on On-Line and MSRP pricing which included an itemization of what was included in the MRSP price and what was yet to be added were we to purchase a car with Breakaway. The other salesperson did not call to introduce himself, did not send an itemization of what was included in the MRSP cost of the car, nor did he answer my e-mail reply asking for such. Makes a BIG difference! Anyway, as I tend to have written diaherra, I best curtail my written remarks least you make paper airplanes of them. In short, Christine was very personable and super-friendly in her engaging Italian way, displayed interest in my wife and me beyond the purchase of a car. She stayed on track w/ what we wanted and was even frank about questions I had on some add-ons I was thinking of, had the car ready to go -- along w/ a meeting w/ Finance Mngr. Jack Schading -- when we arrived to pick up the car. I must say Jack was also very personable, low-keyed and carefully and thoroughly walked us through the financial end of the purchase w/o the pressure I experienced w/ the other S.C Dealer's Finance Manager in trying to get an estimate of price of the car should we purchase it. That Dealership also persistently tried to sell us a 2012 car. Jack was able to engage in both our and his backgrounds during the process. My wife and I both felt had we not needed to get home for the arrival of a guest, we most likely would have spent more time w/ both Christine and Jack. So, kudos to both which made the car-buying experience pleasurable, despite the outlay of finances for two retirees. One last thing I would add, my wife and I found all the personnel, including the other salespersons, pleasurably friendly, as if but the extended arm of Christine and Jack. I was looking for a 2012 CRV and had a '94 Cadillac for trade-in. Kurt was very helpful and showed me the CRV's they had available and went on a test drive with him. When shopping for a new vehicle, I did a lot of shopping online. Christine answered me back promptly and worked with me to get me the car I was wanting and at a price we could both live with. She was absolutely wonderful through the whole deal. She was professional, listened to what I wanted and did not want, and found exactly what I was looking for. NONE of the other internet sales people I had been in contact with had done that. She impressed me, and it takes a lot for a sales person to impress me. I had 2 cars and was trying to get down to 1 and no one at BreakAway had a problem with that. She located what I wanted and needed and notified me when it arrived, and met me there to show it to me. We made the deal with a handshake(the old-fashioned way business needs to go back to) on Friday night and traded on Saturday. She got the prep done on Saturday even though I told her it was not a big deal to wait til the next week. She made trading as painless as possible. I would definitely recommend her and BreakAway! Well that changed after they started changing the initial quote and adding fees. Christine Brunt was sincere since the very first conversation we had. She told me that she was giving me the lowest price she could and that did not change in our negotiation. She worked really hard with the manager to match my trade in value. Christine and Ramiro in finance managed to get me a 1.9% with an anemic credit. Christine will strike you as a very open and likeable person who will not dance around with false promises or make you waste your time. Between test drive and paperwork I was out with my new truck in less than two hours that felt like 20 minutes thanks to Christine. More
