On 4/11/25, I visited Fred Anderson Kia of Raleigh as a first-time buyer and college student, excited to purchase a 2018 Hyundai Kona that was advertised online. When I arrived, the salesman, Victor, seeme first-time buyer and college student, excited to purchase a 2018 Hyundai Kona that was advertised online. When I arrived, the salesman, Victor, seemed confused about the vehicle's identity, since it had a 2022 sticker. He later confirmed it was simply mislabeled and that it was the 2018 Hyundai Kona I had come to see. That clarification is the only reason I stayed. After running my credit, setting up insurance, and moving funds for a down payment, I was blindsided. The used car manager, John Cloutman, informed me that the vehicle I was finalizing everything for had actually been sold a week prior. The car wasn't mislabeled -- it was misrepresented. When I understandably expressed disappointment (without raising my voice), John responded with a condescending tone and told me to "bring it down a notch." He then told my parents I was "just another pin on a board" and brushed off the situation as if it was no big deal -- even after my credit was hit and I was left without a car. His attitude was not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful. My parents recorded the interaction (intended only to remember what I said), but unfortunately, John's own rude behavior was captured too. If you're a first-time buyer or want a used car dealership that treats you like a person and not a number, I strongly recommend staying far away from Fred Anderson Kia of Raleigh. John made it clear he didn't care -- and you deserve better. More

Salesperson: Tay Sales Manager: James Broyhill / John (unsure of last name) Rating: 2 Stars I traveled from Maryland to buy a 2025 Telluride SX after finalizing an out-the-door price with James Broyh (unsure of last name) Rating: 2 Stars I traveled from Maryland to buy a 2025 Telluride SX after finalizing an out-the-door price with James Broyhill. He was excellent remotely—very responsive and even offered airport pickup and to expedite the process. However, once I arrived, the total price increased by $341 in unexplained fees. The manager on duty, John, was dismissive and sarcastic, saying I should call the governor if I didn’t like Maryland’s fees. It was upsetting and unprofessional. I emailed Mr. Broyhill afterward, hoping for follow-up or acknowledgment, and never received a reply. On the bright side, Tay (the salesperson) was amazing—kind, patient, and professional. He stayed past closing and helped me finish the deal despite how emotional the situation had become. Tay deserves five stars. The rest of the experience, unfortunately, does not. I expected better transparency and service from a dealer with such good initial communication. More

He promptly responded to our inquiry about the specific Telluride model we wanted. Through a few email exchanges, we found the exact car at an amazing price. Later that week, we visited for a quick test drive and were highly impressed with CJ's and Fred Anderson's exceptional customer service. Their friendly yet non-pushy attitude made us feel comfortable throughout the entire car buying process, which took just a couple of hours. CJ went above and beyond to explain every detail, ensuring we were completely satisfied. Even after our purchase, they followed up several times to address any questions or concerns. We highly recommend working with Fred Anderson Kia and especially CJ for an outstanding car buying experience. More
