I don't think anyone could ask for a friendlier yet professional staff as you have in your Rawlins location. Believe me when I tell you that all my friends are going to know just how friendly and competent the people who staff your Rawlins location are and they deserve the support of your organization as well as the community here. On to the truck itself, a new 2025 Laramie 1500. I have to admit to being a bit skeptical with the new twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter straight six engine-my last two Ram's were both powered by the Hemi V-8 and I really liked both the sound and power of that engine. This new truck my have similar lines to my last Big Horn, but it is difficult to describe how different and pleasing the Laramie is. The sound is deceiving to say the least, being extremely quiet especially for the power it is capable of making. Very smooth in acceleration and almost linear in that regard. Hard to do with a turbocharged engine and especially with two turbochargers. Even the turbochargers are quiet in operation and I'd say the only thing missing is a boost gauge, but truth be told if you are in boost, the acceleration is such that you really need to concentrate on the road instead of the gauge package! One special note: the LED headlights are a huge improvement over the previous system used and ought to be standard equipment in every Ram truck. The clarity and range of the headlights are a very much welcomed addition and the safety they bring are remarkable. The 8-speed automatic has improved programming and is more capable than before. The shifts are smooth and rather than hunting around for the proper gear the combination of engine/transmission holds in whatever gear it's in without temperature rise in either the engine fluids or the transmission. I had heard the suspension had a few minor tweaks since my 2022 Big Horn model was built and they made an already good suspension even better. The truck sucks up the bumps and irregularities in the road easily and inspires confidence with it's sure-footed handling. Beauty might be in the eye of the beholder but it is my opinion that Ram still has the best combination of layout and materials used of any truck maker today. It is pleasing to the eye yet not flashy or gimmicky in any way. I did a road trip test of my new 2025 Laramie from Hanna to Cheyenne to Rawlins this morning. In my previous Big Horn with the 5.7 Hemi would average a bit over 22 MPG. How an engine half the size of the Hemi can make more horsepower and torque yet average 26 MPG over the course is a source of wonder. The transmission held it's gear both up and down the hills and the truck is so quiet especially at idle that with the windows up the driver is looking at the tachometer to see if the engine is turning. You folks have a real winner on your hands and if FCA can play a bit with the pricing I don't think you'll be able to keep stock on hand. Well done! More
