I was interested in test driving a 2011 Kia Sportage I was interested in test driving a 2011 Kia Sportage listed online. I sent a quick email to the dealership Friday evening. I assumed I would not I was interested in test driving a 2011 Kia Sportage listed online. I sent a quick email to the dealership Friday evening. I assumed I would not hear from anyone until Saturday morning, but Mike contacted me that night. We made an appointment to meet the next morning. Pulling into the GMC dealership, the Sportage was sitting out front and ready to drive. Mike met us with a genuine smile and zero smarm (you know what I mean). We all piled into the Sportage for a quick trial run. I liked the fit and trim of the vehicle, and knew it would fit our active lifestyle while still offering a little comfort. However, I was struggling with the fact that I really wanted something more "truck-like". Mike was gracious when we also asked to test drive the two Jeeps on the lot. I almost talked myself into buying one of them, but my husband saved me from myself. (It was silver and an automatic...yuck) We told Mike that we just weren't ready to make a decision yet, and would need to discuss our options over lunch. I could tell that Mike did not want us to leave (because that typically means no sale), but he was gracious and understanding in his goodbyes. During lunch, I came back to the Sportage as being the right vehicle for me at this time. However, we wanted to test drive one more vehicle before pulling the trigger. We ended up having a less than desirable experience at another dealership. I had to track a salesperson down and then wait to take a test drive. We did like the feel of the vehicle and decided to move forward with the purchase only to learn that the price had been misquoted by almost 5k. After a few minutes of back and forth, leading to that uncomfortable car buying smarmy feeling, I told my husband I was going to get the Sportage. Mike, Zeke, and Matt all took great care of us upon our return. They were all busy and it was late in the day, but they were still attentive and professional. I'd like to think both parties came out with a fair deal in the end. More
Kim Murscoe was great. I called her when I had a problem with my car and she set me an appointment quickly to come into the Service Dept. She even provided a rental to me so that I did not have to miss my work or trip pre-planned in the next few days. This was Great! I was told that my vehicle would be ready on Monday and it was as promised. I thanked Kim for her service and assistance to me. It really made a huge difference.
