Came in for an oil change and they tried to sell me on $500 worth of other services, but my checklist came back all green. I scheduled an appointment for service on 5/ 5/25. On the initial call from the service department to schedule service I explained in detail that I wanted a proper transmission service done. This included draining the existing fluid, dropping the pan, replacing the filter and filling with new fluid. I asked if they could provide that service and they assured me they could. I specifically told the rep I did not want a flush and fill or fluid exchange. When I brought my vehicle in for service I had this same discussion with the service writer. They assured me they would perform the service I requested. I proceeded to wait in the waiting area with a view into the shop. I was able to observe the entire service including snapping some photos as the technician worked. I watched as he proceeded to perform a flush and fill (fluid exchange) which is what I had told them I did not want. He also performed a recall as well. I was notified that the work was completed and stepped out to the service writer’s desk where I informed them that the service was not complete and they needed to pull my vehicle back in the shop and do the work I had requested. In defense of the service advisor and the tech they were both apologetic. The tech told me he had just not read the order properly. He quickly pulled my vehicle back in the shop and completed a proper transmission service, draining the new fluid he had just installed, dropping the pan and installing a new filter and pan gasket. Adding back the required new fluid. When I went to pay my bill they had charged me for 20 quarts of transmission fluid at $10.89 per quart. So I was charged for additional fluid as a result of the service not being done properly. Not to mention an incredible markup on the parts. I responded to an email that I received from the General Manager Joe Barba describing this incident in its entirety. I never received any reply. The thing I found most surprising is that when I called the dealership and asked to speak with Mr. Barba I was told he didn’t have an extension and I would need to email him. I can tell you this with certainty. If I owned that dealership my General Manager would be accessible and he would be responding to our customers of which I will never be as a result of this one and done experience! More
