BUYER BEWARE!! All of these positive reviews must be from people who are buying brand new cars because if you buy a used car from this dealership, be warned from someone with buyers remorse who purchased fro people who are buying brand new cars because if you buy a used car from this dealership, be warned from someone with buyers remorse who purchased from them. I (unfortunately) bought a used vehicle (as is - I know it's as is but I thought I could trust this company given the reviews I read) definitely not. I bought this vehicle in February of 2019 (less than 1 year ago) and before the 1st payment was even made on it, the car was sitting in a mechanic shop resulting in $1,000 repair bill and 2 separate tow truck bills as well. It was brought to my attention that the issues with the car would have been very easily noticed had it been inspected properly before being placed on the lot for sale. So, I called the dealership and was told I would recieve a call back but never heard anything (even if you can't help me, at least have the deciency to call me back and tell me that, it's just good customer service in which is lacking here). I let that situation go and moved on with life. My car came with 2 free (hahahaha) oil changes. My husband went to check on the status of the car only to find an employee (one of their mechanics) leaning on the trunk of my car talking to his buddies while I have my 2 month old daughter in the lobby waiting. After my car was finished, I was told that I owed $60 for the oil change and when I stated that it came with the car, the lady continued to ask me where I purchased my vehicle because it didn't show the car was purchased there. How disgustingly unprofessional, right.? They then emailed me to find out about my experience with them and I stated everything that is written here, only to be ignored without a response from this company for a 2nd time. Now here we are in Nov 2020 ( STILL less than a year later after buying the vehicle) and I'm getting ready to have to go through the long and stressful process of trying to get rid of this xxxxx to get a reliable vehicle that I should have been sold the first time. I could probably count on one hand how many reviews I have ever written but this dealership and experience was so awful that I felt I should warn everyone who goes into this company with high expectations, your expectations will not be met. I will NEVER use this dealership nor ever refer anyone to this dealership ever again. Everyone, please be mindful of what people are saying in these negative reviews. If multiple people are having similar problems, you could be next. More
This was the smoothest new car purchase I have ever done. Zack was absolutely awesome. He was very nice and courteous. They got us in and out in a flash once we decided on a car. Our experience with Austin Demott was great. He worked diligently to get the car we wanted at the price we needed. His honesty and professionalism was superb. We would highly recommend him for your car bu diligently to get the car we wanted at the price we needed. His honesty and professionalism was superb. We would highly recommend him for your car buying experience. Also, Amy, in the Finance Department, did a great job of explaining the warranty options without being pushy. She was very professional as well. We highly recommend these two people for you car buying experience at Gay Family Kia. More
I went in today 10/28/20 to test drive a 2021 Kia Telluride AWD EX. I was greeted by Meagan Posten. She initially showed me a 2020 SX that was a demo with over 20,000 miles. Price over 50,000.00. We Telluride AWD EX. I was greeted by Meagan Posten. She initially showed me a 2020 SX that was a demo with over 20,000 miles. Price over 50,000.00. We then moved on to the EX. The test drive was nice, she seemed pleasant and informative. I told her upon returning that if I could get the price I wanted, she would have a sale today. We went inside, she spoke with her “manager” and came back with a “price” . The MSRP of 43,695... with an offer to me around 42,000+ ttl, and a monthly rate of over 865.00. No drive out price given , and financing hadn’t even been discussed, so not sure where the monthly rate came from. When I told her that was more than what I wanted to spend, she asked what my price would be. I said, 40,000.00 drive out”, and she wrote it down on the same piece of paper and had me initial it. She came back with a counter from her “manager” of 50,000.00. How it went from 42,000.00 plus ttl to 50,000.00 drive out is beyond my comprehension, considering ttl would have been approx 3,000. Making drive out around 45,000 plus change, to which she agreed at the time. So I left. When I got home I texted Meagan and voiced my disappointment and questioned what happened with the quoted price of 42,000+, she told me, and I quote from her text... “ No ma'am. He was initially at a $51,600 drive out. He lowered it to 50k upon your offer of 40k out the door.” I stated,” That's not what was on paper, but that doesn't matter... I see that all dealerships are the same . Have a good day” Her response to me was, and I quote from her text message, “ (1 of 2) That is correct. The paper had the sales price and payments not the drive out. I'm sorry we couldn't earn your busniess. I hope you have a great day too.” This has to be one of the most terrible, shady , manipulative transactions I have ever had with a dealership and I have had several over the past few days. I understand all businesses need to make a profit, but to blatantly try and rob a customer is unprofessional and untrustworthy. Or maybe it was because I was a woman, and they felt they could take advantage or treat me as if I was an idiot. Oh and the 2020 Telluride SX with over 20,000 miles on it... she stated they were selling it over 5,000 more than what the original price of the vehicle was worth because the “market is hot for the most popular suv out there.” So if you want to buy a Kia... or any other vehicle associated with the Gay Family in Dickinson Texas.... don’t do it, unless you like being robbed of your money. Service department lacks competence and integrity. I was told a service was completed that involved removing a broken piece of my hair clip from the gear xxxx. My hair clip showed no evidence of being broke told a service was completed that involved removing a broken piece of my hair clip from the gear xxxx. My hair clip showed no evidence of being broken. The leather that surrounds the gear shift was not torn or showed any evidence of a peice of my hair clip needing to be removed. Of course this service was not covered under my warranty so I was told I would be charged. They backed of when I asked to see my hair clip which again was NOT broken. They also were not able to supply me with a loner car. I had to rent a car for a week because they were unable to tell me when they would have a loner available and how long the service would take. I would expect a record of when a loner car would be available at the very least. I also asked for my key fob to be reprogrammed and was told it would not be able to. This key fob was 1 of 2 fobs i received when i purchased my new Kia at Gay Family Kia in 2018. My purse was stolen 1 yr ago and had my key with my wallet in it, so I had my spare key reprogrammed. I was able to retrieve my stolen purse so I asked for the fob that was in my stolen purse to be reprogrammed and Roy in Service told me it couldn't be done. Why were they able to do one a yr ago but not the other one now? I would have to spend 300 to purchase a new fob instead of 75 to reprogram. I purchase new, not used vehicles to avoid out of pocket expenses. My previous new vehicles were purchased at Ron Carter Cadillac. They were always able to give me a loner car and replaced my fob at no charge. This was my first purchase at Gay Family Kia and will be my last. I was also looking to buy my son a vehicle. I will now be trading my car in and buying 2 new vehicles elsewhere. I am trading in my car because I still have 8 yrs of warrenty left on this car and refuse to do business with Gay Family Kia. I couldn't help but think that maybe I was treated that way because I'm a female. Well this female is smart enough to know when she is being taken advantage of, and will NOT stand for being lied to and mistreated. EVERYONE deserves equal and fair service. I truly hope this review helps Gay Family Kia deliver better service to ALL of their clients. God Bless! More
