I live in Danbury which is over an hour from this dealership but make the trip since the service is always so friendly, professional, reasonable and effortless. I would highly recommend this dealersh dealership but make the trip since the service is always so friendly, professional, reasonable and effortless. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a car or to service their car. I bought my car here here as well and the saleswoman Yolanda Westerland was a total joy to work with. No high pressure, just put me in a car I could afford and one that would be reliable and safe. I came into the dealership on my last visit because I needed a bulb change. All I needed to do was purchase the bulb and they installed it no charge. They are so nice and accommodating. I go to them f needed a bulb change. All I needed to do was purchase the bulb and they installed it no charge. They are so nice and accommodating. I go to them for all my service work and I feel like we are getting to know each other. Its a nice dealership and Rich is the best even when I ask him some crazy car questions. More
5 times at this dealership for 2 different repairs Volvo. 1st -4th time(s) was a Engine Cylinder Head Leak. $2000 later & 4 times back to this Dealer for the same repair & on the 4th time they said the Volv 1st -4th time(s) was a Engine Cylinder Head Leak. $2000 later & 4 times back to this Dealer for the same repair & on the 4th time they said the Volvo was ready, it was parked in the back of shop with a Huge Oil LEAK under the Engine compartment. They ( this Dealer ) said ( I ) had not tightened the Oil Drain Plug nor tightened the Oil Filter on my last Oil Change. Mind you this Volvo has been at this Volvo Dealership 3 previous times & I had not changed the oil in 2 1/2 months prior. There wasn't any Oil Leaking from the Filter or Oil Drain Plug prior to this servicing at this Volvo Dealer. They accused me of being the culprit... This just doesn't add up within the 4 visits for the same repair? Absolutely Not True! 5th time was Just to check engine for Codes. Just put it on their Computer & give me a read out of what needed to be replaced or repaired. Mind you NO REPAIRS Just a computer check with read out. No lift involved, no repairs just plug their Volvo Computer into my Volvo & give me the results... This was done BUT on this same visit from the back garage bay & then brought it back around to the front. In this short time & distance They (the Dealer) said, "oh by the way, your emergency brakes are frozen & it will not go forward or back up... I said to the Service Rep." My emergency brakes worked just fine driving here & no grinding or rubbing or stopping my car from moving forward nor reverse. When it was FIRST driven into the service bay for the Computer test nothing was said to me by either the mechanic nor the service rep. so it must have been fine on the way into the service bay. NOW after the computer test & driven out of the service bay to front of building the Emergency brakes do not work & my Volvo cannot be driven forward nor in reverse. This is when the service rep. says to me, Your Volvo is out front but it will not move because the Emergency brakes went & sometimes this happens... WHAT! Please help me figure this out So to resolve I offered to pay for all parts & that They (GENGRAS VOLVO of Meriden ) install & absorb the Labor. They said ( we each & everyone who had driven the car from front of building to service bay & from service bay back to front of building) did not use the emergency brake therefor we did not cause the damage... I will not refer this Dealership to anyone for a repair after their warranty is OUR expired... They have average to poor techs & take multiple times to fix one thing only to break another. They are on peace work, finish job as fast as possible & move on to the next job but they get Volvo straight repair time. So if a job requires 2 hours of time & they can quickly finish in 2 they get the full 4 hours of time & move on to the next job.... Fast & careless Work. IF MONEY IS NOT A PROBLEM, THEN tHIS DEALER IS place to go.BUT IF YOUR VOLVO IS OUT OF WARRANTY & NEEDS REPAIR ..... BE ADVISED, STAY AWAY POOR WORK, EXPENSIVE & REPEAT VISITS THAT WILL COST YOU MORE & THEY WILL END UP REPAIRING & THEN BREAKING SOMETHING ELSE. THEY ARE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED FOR US ALL AS THEY ARE THE ONLY 2 IN THE AREA & OWNED BY THE SAME OUTFIT & THEY KNOW IT. THEY ARE ALSO NOT A MEMBER OF THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS. Experience with Rich Lewis has been outstanding. Always knowledgeable in explaining service, reason for repairs and cost. He is a major asset to your company. Significant problem occurred outside service knowledgeable in explaining service, reason for repairs and cost. He is a major asset to your company. Significant problem occurred outside service department as a low engine oil light keeps coming out even after car was assessed and several repairs were completed at a cost. Volvo head Quarters was contacted as to what might be low oil level light problem, eventhough there is penty of oil and car was checked. A ticket was started, but No solution has been found or reason determined by Volvo head quarters as why low oil light comes on and off. I feel Rich has done what he can and Volvo Corp is not able to provide a reason or guidance in thi area. Unfortunatley Volvo headquartes lack of guidance swayed me to purchase another car. I'm hoping this gets resolved as my sister has car now and light comes and goes. My guess this a faulty car?? More
I recently had service performed on my 2005 XC70 at this location. Over the past 195k miles, I've had different dealers perform service on my vehicle. By far this was the best experience I've had.
