We arrived at 9:15 AM and our 2023 K5 was promptly checked in, photographed and driven away by Robert Garner, our Service Advisor. We regained control of our car at 11:55AM. We were told the oil change/tire rotation service would take about 1.5 hours with a required software update. Here are some fun facts to consider before putting your car into the service department at Gerald Kia of Mattesson. 1. At 9:29, about 5-7 minutes after Robert Garner drove away in our car, I received an excessive speed notification from the Kia Access App on my phone. My excessive speed threshold is set at 85MPH. Apparently, whichever Gerald Kia employee was in control of our car was driving it faster than 85MPH. 2. After the oil change service was completed and my car was brought out to us, I popped the hood and found new motor oil spilled all around the filter area of the undercar splash shield. I asked for a rag and cleaned this up myself. Several Gerald employees witnessed my exchange with Robert Garner regarding this sloppy workmanship. 3. Upon opening the driver's side door to depart I found new motor oil smeared on the right side of the driver's seat cushion. Again, I cleaned this up myself in the service advisors area. Several Gerald employees witnessed my exchange with Robert Garner regarding this next example of sloppy workmanship. 4. While driving home from the oil change service, I discovered that the radio station I had tuned in during the ride over to Gerald Kia had been changed to a station that is not on my pre-sets and one I would never listen to. 5. Later in the same day I discovered that a totally unfamiliar radio station had been added to my pre-set station list. Sloppy work and abuse of customer property. Never, ever going back. Don't bother calling to try to "make it right". I don't trust this dealership anymore. More
If you don’t buy a car the salesmen and manager will make fun of you and your family on the way out! They laughed and played a clown sound. If they use that every time they can’t close a deal it must get use fun of you and your family on the way out! They laughed and played a clown sound. If they use that every time they can’t close a deal it must get used ALOT. They said they could beat a price I received from Orland Kia but they just “didn’t have the car”. They said they could have it transferred by the end of the day and meanwhile tried to upsell a more expensive vehicle. When I declined that, they said they wouldn’t have the car I want until Monday and kept pushing the more expensive vehicle. They tried all of usual tricks and were upset I didn’t fold. More

I did refinance with another lender since I got a better interest rate and found out that the dealership has registered my title with incorrect VIN number, incorrect VIN number in bill of sale and registration card. Since it was mistake at my end of not checking properly on my car VIN number and dealership said it was a human error I understood the situation and waited patiently but now it took 4 months since the issue was reported and still I don't have a proper response on why they did do that. I have registered the compliant with secretary of state police Illinois and awaiting to get a solution. I was not able to drive the car for 4 months and the dealership never cared to respond with any compensation for rental cars. It was my horrible mistake buying a car at this dealership and that 2500 dollars above MSRP. I was able to get a temporary plate from Secretary of State Police after 4 months. Wish I could have done this at the start. I have moved over to NC after I bought the car and that really made things worse. More
So my wife took her car in to get the AC looked at because it stopped working. So she called me and told me that it was going to be a charge of $400 to find the leak and that isn't covered under the w because it stopped working. So she called me and told me that it was going to be a charge of $400 to find the leak and that isn't covered under the warranty. So I called Peter (if I'm not mistaken) to tell him to stop working on the vehicle because of the price. So we got off of the phone and my wife went back to get the car and she get the paperwork and leave. Now remind you she just went in for the AC not working. So she went to work after picking up her car and when she left work the oil light comes on and we just got the oil changed about a week and a half ago. I feel like the mechanic Mike took oil out of the engine and Luis is covering up the fact that he has bogus people working for that dealership. This just happened on the 13th of June 2023 between 7am and 820am. The cameras need to be reviewed because I bet any money. My wife isn't the first one this has happened to. I will not be coming back to this Kia for anything and see if I have a case for legal action. More
Beware of the sneaky way they add on cost to your agreed upon purchase price. This is done by the Finance manager and management. Be careful. You agree on a price with the sales guy and you proceed to si upon purchase price. This is done by the Finance manager and management. Be careful. You agree on a price with the sales guy and you proceed to sign the paperwork with the finance guy. If you don't ask to see the final loan amount and the itemized bill to how you got to your total, you will miss that they added additional items such as "sealant coating" cost, that you never requested, that they can't prove that they put on the car and its a fee that they just include on your loan. This is a scam. Read on this, do your homework. Don't give away your money. Finance guys make their commissions also, that's why they push you so much on all the extra stuff, and insurance to add to your cost. And even if you say no, this guy at least, at this dealership, just added stuff to the loan amount, he skipped the page of the loan total so I wouldn't see it and only showed me my monthly payment. It was I, being from a Finance background as well, that requested to see the breakout of the total purchase and caught the additional items he had added. What is worst, management didn’t want to correct the bill and remove it for good faith. Simple! Go to more honest businesses. More
I went to the "Gouge" place again in Matteson to purchase an EV6. I noticed the Gouge sticker on the car> $11800 over list with things called market adjustment, $2200 Simonize (on a matte car) and of course an EV6. I noticed the Gouge sticker on the car> $11800 over list with things called market adjustment, $2200 Simonize (on a matte car) and of course Vin etching. Since 2019 they lost a $55000 Stinger deal as I went to Bradley got a discount and a $45000 Sorento deal as both had the gouge sticker on them and got a discount on the Sorrento. Went to Bradley and got a deal. So if you add up everything since 2019 they lost 3 deals totaling $163000 in Kia deals and I live local. They are the other dealers' best salesperson! More
