Bad Taste Left In MY Mouth! I went to Gettel Kia because they had the car/color I wanted in stock. I’d love to say my experience was all sunshine, it wasn’t. I will say my ex I went to Gettel Kia because they had the car/color I wanted in stock. I’d love to say my experience was all sunshine, it wasn’t. I will say my experience with Kristen one of the sales reps was great, she was friendly, interested in me, and my needs. She also related to me and helped me get into the car I wanted and got me a fair price for my trade in. That’s where the pleasantness ended.. All dealerships do this: Add ons. They’ll try and scrape and claw at any extra penny they can get. They also wanted $5,000 over msrp as well as overpriced add ons. I got them to waive the BS $5,000, great. Still they wanted 2,000 -3,000 over MSRP. So asked about the add ons, I stated I didn’t want them. I spoke with one of the managers and he said “we can’t take that off since they are already included”. Which I believe is fraud but I’ll skip that for now. (Wheel Locks: $199. (Maybe$30 max) Door Cups: $99 maybe15$ max). As you can see: Overpriced accessories. They wouldn’t budge. The one that really bothered me was AutoButler. $699 for the first application of Autobutler. I asked what that was, so they tried to sell me on the ceramic coat. I asked why it was only a first application when 9 reapplication subscription costs the same. So I was told by the manager that they would get me a full subscription if I signed today and it would arrive in the mail. (At $699 you can get your car detailed professionally twice a year for 3-4 years.) So I agreed, I’d take some hits on the other overpriced accessories but I’d have the autobutler detail subscription and they told me they’d also throw in free all-weather floor mats but they didn’t have any in stock at the time. They reserved the car and I would come back on Monday with a check. Monday comes around and I pay and drive off the lot happy. Around a 2week later I receive a call that they forgot to collect the down payment from finance and that I needed to pay immediately. Which I didn’t catch at first when I paid. I informed them I was on a trip and that I’d return next weekend and get them the money. I returned the next weekend and paid, however they kept hounding and harassing me, (finance) Friday night I got home, to a voicemail that they were going to come to my house and repo my new car. I texted finance guy that I had just returned from a trip. I drove down Saturday to pay them and I asked where the floor mats and autobutler were. (One of the finance guys handed me a Body Armour self-detailing kit. I assume $40 max.) He then stated, I never opted for those options and that it would be an additional $1,200. I didn’t get it in writing, just a verbal confirmation. I told them I’d be giving a bad review on the survey unless I got what was agreed upon. I asked if maybe they could throw in some cross bars instead, of the AB and Mats, still nothing. I received a call about a month ago on Autobutler from a younger manager from Pennsylvania and he was looking into getting it for me, he was friendly and courteous. I also believe now, that this dealership doesn’t even apply AutoButler first application because they only offer a subscription of 9 reapplications for $699. I haven’t heard anything back so now I’m writing this review. Never received the AutoButler or Mats. It made me happy they “tried” but clearly all smoke and mirrors. All they needed to do was give me what was agreed upon, and what I paid for. I already overpaid for everything else. My sales experience here was positive with Kristen, she is a really hard worker and knew every feature and detail about the car, but the management and finance staff played games and really did me dirty. This was my first experience buying a new car at a dealership, and I wouldn’t return to Gettel Kia of Bradenton again. Just ruined the buying experience. & Left a bad taste in my mouth. My advice: Treat people how you would like to be treated as a customer, especially for the management and finance teams. Also: Keep your word, don’t promise something and then play games to scrape for every penny. More
Work was exactly as quoted and vehicle runs great. Russell was direct and open about possible issues and costs. Russell was direct and open about possible issues and costs. More
