This is the GM of Gold Coast Cadillac. While it is unfortunate the after sale process has not been smooth these things can happen when dealing with an out of state transaction. MD will not process your motor vehicle without the original inspection report. According to our records the rotors passed NJ inspection specs. While your state did not pass them we paid for their replacement. After the inspection we did not receive the orginal inspection report from you until your temp tag was expiring. I am sorry this situation occured but some of the delays were caused by rules that MD has and delays in paperwork that we cannot control. I hope this is a small bump in the road in your overall ownership of this vehicle. Despite some of the problems, the pricing we offered for the vehicle was still attractive enough for the transaction to occur.

This is the GM of Gold Coast Cadillac. I did some research on this vehicle. Kelly Blue Book suggested Retail is $35,150. Edmunds TMV is $26,400. Our asking price was $30,500. Just because a website gives a suggested price does not mean that is the correct price. As you can see above, two of the most referenced websites for vehicle values have almost a $10,000 difference. The price is determined by what the buyer and seller agree is a fair price. Your offer for our vehicle was $25,000. Both of the first two salespeople could not accept your offer and said they would contact you if something changed (which it did not). Steve did return your call and in a message said that while he appreciated your offer we could not sell the vehicle for the amount you offered. We have since sold the vehicle for $29,000. While we strive to do our best to sell a vehicle to every customer who comes, in we do not come to terms with them all. I do not feel you have given a fair assessment of our staff just because we would not discount a vehicle to the price you had offered. You did not see the value for the price I was asking and it is your right as a consumer to not purchase something. Your decision not to purchase was yours and does not automatically make our sales staff the bad people you imply.

When you brought the vibration to our attention we corrected the problem at no cost to you and you did not mention any other issues at that time. The wheel bearing will be covered under warranty. Now several weeks later it has developed an alignment issue. All it takes is one solid hit to knock out an alignment. We have corrected the issues you brought to our attention shortly after your purchase and any other major issues will be covered under warranty. While it is unfortunate that some of these items have happend, things like this can occur when you purchase a pre-owned vehicle. While I would not expect you to give us a perfect review, I do not understand why it completely negative.

I will address your issues one at a time: When you purchased the vehicle Saab had a deal in placed to be purchased by a large Chinese manufacturing company. The deal was in place and we felt that Saab had a bright future with this new company. Unfortunately GM came from out of left field and killed the deal in December. At no point did we misinform you when you were purchasing the vehicle. We can only use the information we have available at that time. If I had a crystal ball not only would we not have sold you the vehicle but would have stopped representing Saab as one of their dealers. The front plate bracket is still not available to order. No vehicles were shipped with front brackets. We have you on a list should they become available. As our manager stated the last time you were in, we do not know at this point what is going to happen with Saab and the warranty on them. The group of dealers is currently negotiating with Saab as to what is going to happen with warranties for customers who have purchased vehicles. We will not know the outcome of this for 30-60 days. Until this process is complete we cannot advise you of your options. By no means have we abandoned you. Unfortunately we have to wait for the above process to be complete to know what our options are. This is not an enjoyable time for anyone associated with Saab. We hope that we have some favorable news in the near future.

I appreciate your response; however I believe I raised my concerns about SAAB to Gold Coast. Gold Coast gave me assurance they would continue to support SAAB. I purchased my car in good faith with Gold Coast and at this point Gold Coast will not meet its commitment. If a company presents information, accepts money based on this information but is unwilling to meet their commitment; this is “misinforming” customers, to put it lightly. I hope this works out for all of us.
