Worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. HUGE lack of communication. Could never get anyone to return a phone call. Still waiting for a call back from the manager over mechanical issues. I purchased a 2021 Jeep Cherokee from Great Lakes Hyundai of Dublin. During the drive home, within about 30 minutes of leaving the dealership, the “Service 4WD” warning light came on. I immediately contac of Dublin. During the drive home, within about 30 minutes of leaving the dealership, the “Service 4WD” warning light came on. I immediately contacted the dealership the same day. A local Jeep dealer later diagnosed the issue as a failed transfer case that requires full replacement. The repair is covered under the factory powertrain warranty, but the part has been backordered and the vehicle has now been down for over a month waiting for the repair. I reached out multiple times to the dealership to see if they would offer any goodwill assistance given that the failure occurred almost immediately after purchase and the vehicle required a major drivetrain repair right away. After escalating the request to the General Manager level, the dealership declined any assistance and stated that because the vehicle was sold as-is they would not provide any compensation or accommodation. I understand that used vehicles are sold as-is, but having a major drivetrain component fail within minutes of purchase and then being without the vehicle for weeks has been frustrating. I was hoping the dealership would show some goodwill in this situation, but unfortunately that was not the case. I’m sharing this experience so others can make an informed decision when purchasing from this dealership. More
