We purchased a 2024, leftover but new Santa Fe on 8-11-25 from Grieco Hyundai in Johnston, RI. • Experienced front brake vibration, chip in the paint on front left door and blind spot cameras wo 8-11-25 from Grieco Hyundai in Johnston, RI. • Experienced front brake vibration, chip in the paint on front left door and blind spot cameras working intermittently. • When we called for service and demanded a loaner we were told we had to wait until 8-29-25 for a loaner to be available. • Into garage 8-29-25. Several updates for diagnosing, ordering parts and waiting for parts. We were told there were recall issues as well and we won’t get the car back until late next week or early the next. Recalls known on a brand new car? Might get the car back 9-22-25 maybe? This is totally unacceptable considering that his was a brand new car. Had 76 miles on it. We’ve had the loaner longer than our car. We are requesting a full buy back with the total loan being paid. We put down over $23k We have yet to hear back from the dealership. In my 45 years of purchasing cars I’ve never had such a nightmare experience like this. I will never buy another car from these guys. There have lousy customer service once they sell you the car. Failed $1,800 A/C Repair - Poor Service & Accountability The Problem: Two failed A/C repairs totaling nearly $2,000. The final $1,400 compressor replacement failed in under a month. Dec Accountability The Problem: Two failed A/C repairs totaling nearly $2,000. The final $1,400 compressor replacement failed in under a month. Deceptive Practices: Service invoice clearly shows "AM" next to the compressor part (aftermarket), but I was charged OEM pricing with no disclosure about part quality differences. I specifically went to a dealer instead of an independent repair shop expecting that the problem would be repaired correctly and with genuine Hyundai parts - I know it would cost more at a dealer, but sometimes you are willing to pay more expecting the problem to be repaired correctly the first time using OEM parts, but that was not the case at Grieco Hyundai. They also try to upsell you on unneeded repairs and parts - I have 42,000 miles on my 2012 Hyundai Veloster, but they wanted me to purchase new iridium spark plugs. The original iridium spark plugs are good for 100,000+ miles and don't need replacement at 42,000 miles unless you are experiencing drivability issues, which I was not. They also wanted $500 to replace a trunk release/open button on the hatchback, but there are several YouTube tutorial videos that demonstrate it can be repaired in 15 minutes with a $20 aftermarket part from Amazon - and I already know that Grieco likes to use aftermarket parts instead of genuine Hyundai OEM parts. There appears to be a pattern of padding profits by using aftermarket parts and still charging OEM dealership pricing. Poor Customer Service: • Original service manager (Peter Parsons) was dismissive when repair failed (now fired or quit, no longer there) offered zero customer relation skills or apologies for two visits, nearly $2000 spent, still no functioning A/C • New service manager Jose Diaz promised resolution but never called back - he ghosted me • Hyundai Corporate ignored 3 emails and only responded after sending a certified letter and legal pressure. They assigned a person to mediate who was extremely difficult to understand due to a very thick accent, and his final resolution was to offer me instructions to file a BBB Autoline complaint, instead of handling the issue internally. He failed to take any agency for the issue and merely acted as a messenger between parties. This is unacceptable. The Result: Lost all confidence in Hyundai service network. Purchased a 2025 Honda Civic Sport Hybrid instead, and NOT FROM THEIR HONDA DEALERSHIP, I drove 30 miles away to a dealership in Massachusetts to purchase my car. They lost a customer for life by these poor business practices. Red Flags: Quick repair failure + poor communication + broken promises = pattern of problems. Check other reviews before trusting them with major repairs. Recommendation: Use an independent mechanic for major work. This authorized dealer doesn't maintain the standards you'd expect from a Hyundai franchise. Why would a HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP not use HYUNDAI parts? It's always the money - pad those profits. Note that the Rhode Island AG fined this dealership and two of their other dealerships for deceptive business practices. They have systemic issues, untrustworthy. https://riag.ri.gov/press-releases/attorney-general-neronha-enforces-consumer-protection-law-against-local-auto-dealer ⭐ (1 star) More
This is part two of my previous review. .. I heard back from Hyundai corporate the day before I heard from the Grieco GM. The Hyundai corporate representative opened an investigation int .. I heard back from Hyundai corporate the day before I heard from the Grieco GM. The Hyundai corporate representative opened an investigation into dealership fraud and told me at the very least that what they did makes Hyundai look bad. After a few days, I was contacted by the same representative assigned to my case who said I would be hearing from the dealership to make this right. After all, I wasted three hours signing a lease deal that they simply threw out the window the first chance they had to make money (assuming I would just take another vehicle off their lot). Here I am two weeks later and I have heard nothing from the dealership. I'll be giving Hyundai corporate a call back about this since ether seem to care about the image of the Hyundai name. I found exactly what we were looking for at Nucar Hyundai of North Kingstown, made the down payment, and drove away with the vehicle a couple of days later. This may seem to be more of an advertisement in favor of Nucar, but it goes to show how dishonest Grieco is. I learned through Nucar Hyundai's transparency that Grieco was not being transparent about the price they were offering me. Within minutes of being at their dealership, Nucar showed me the computer screen in which they input the vehicle's cost, rebates, down payment, trade-in value, payoff, money factor, their profit, and my monthly payment. The payment was only $12 more per month than what Grieco quoted me, yet Grieco was giving me $2000 more for my trade (which equates to approximately $60/month in a monthly lease payment). So, why wasn't my payment at Grieco $60 less than Nucar? It was explained to me at Nucar that, although completely legal, to make up for some of the additional money Grieco was offering for my trade, dealerships manipulate the money factor (interest rate) so they get some of that money back. For example, if we were approved for a 6% rate, they change it to 7% or 8% to make up the extra money it appears they're giving the buyer for their trade. I'm so glad I decided to go elsewhere to buy from a transparent and honest dealership. BOTTOM LINE: AVOID ANY GRIECO DEALERSHIPS AT ALL COSTS! They are xxxxxxxx who care more about lining their pockets than forging long-term relationships with their customers/potential customers. The GM told me his job is to attract new customers while retaining current customers. Well, he offered me NOTHING for the miscommunication, wasted time, misinformation, and inability to stand by the agreement his nephew Kyle made with me. (Yes, Kyle is the GM's nephew! Hmmm, nepotism?) His only offer was to go find another vehicle for us which would be a win-win for their dealership. They get me as a customer by leasing a vehicle through them, and they sell the car we signed for to someone else, thus gaining them as a customer. Not to mention, even upon an investigation by Hyundai's corporate office where the dealership was directed to contact me to "make things right," they still have not done so. It amazes me that The Grieco family's slimy ways of doing business attract so many people. I guess that only speaks to their lack of transparency in pricing. I just hope that people take the time to read about my experience to see that Grieco will do and say whatever necessary in the moment to get your business. Honesty, good communication, patience, and transparency go a lot farther with me than a lower price. Perhaps Grieco dealerships should take note. I'll end with some advice if you are going to purchase and/or lease with Grieco: If financing, get approved through a bank or credit union so they can't play their games with your money. Also, don't trust anything they say and question everything they tell you and ask to see every detail on how they're arriving at your monthly payment. Finally, save yourself grief and shop somewhere that's honest and makes you feel valued. That is NOT a Grieco owned dealership! More

Very unprofessional - bought a certified used 2024 Santa Cruz - purchase process was OK - maybe a B - promised a second key fob - took 8 weeks and many many phone calls and messages - also - cancelled a war Cruz - purchase process was OK - maybe a B - promised a second key fob - took 8 weeks and many many phone calls and messages - also - cancelled a warranty which cost $3200 - did all the paperwork - followed all the rules - it has been 11 weeks and no refund - called insurance company and they said that Grieco had not submitted the cancellation paperwork - once the purchase is done - they have no use for their customers - sure doesn't encourage any kind of loyalty More
