Had the absolute worst car shopping experience of my life. They were advertising "guaranteed $5000" for your trade if you finance (not lease) select vehicles. If your car is worth more than $5000, the life. They were advertising "guaranteed $5000" for your trade if you finance (not lease) select vehicles. If your car is worth more than $5000, they say that they will give you 125% of the Kelley Blue Book value of your trade. I called and spoke to a "General Manager" who said that my car (with a KBB value of approximately $18000) is in such high demand due to the earthquake in Japan that they can give me a spectacular price for it and a great end-of-the-month deal on a new Kia. Very long story short; I decide to go in and give them a chance. The salesperson I deal with gets my car appraised at $16000 maximum, maybe $14000. He tells me that there's "no way" that they can give me 125% for my trade, implying that I should know better than that. He tells me that the value of a car they take in trade isn't based on Kelley Blue Book, that the person I spoke to on the phone was lying to me. He contradicts almost everything that the people I spoke to on the phone told me, including the specifics of which vehicles qualify for the advertised program. He also tells me that I'm "expecting him to pick a car" for me because I won't tell him what I want when I had simply asked for him to lay out some options. He also tells me that they "haven't started making" the Optima Hybrid without the $5000 luxury package, when their website shows that they have just such a car in stock. He then tells me that they have a lot of shops and that car could be in Florida or Raynham, MA. Really? Even though they haven't started making them that way? I asked to speak to the man I dealt with on the phone to try and get the low-down on what the xxxx was going on and was told that he wasn't in. The so-called sales "professional" I was dealing with simply became visibly flustered, increasingly snippy and rude and then just walked away. I left and called the main number, asking to speak to the manager who I had spoken with on the phone and was now told that he had stepped away and I could leave him a message. I said "That's OK, I'll hold." A few minutes later they told me that he was on his way back, but they weren't sure why he was taking so long. I ended up talking to another manager who was apologetic but unhelpful. I received 3 phone calls from the dealership after I left. They told me that the magical non-existent car suddenly popped out of a wormhole and fell right onto their lot! They want to put me in it and give me 125% of my blue book value! I'd LOVE to go back and be insulted even more!!!!! I also got a call from one of their telemarketers the other night asking if I was still interested in a new car. I told her that I was definitely still in the market, but would also never buy from Metro. There's more to it than this, believe it or not, but the end result is that I can say with certainty that Metro Kia and Honda don't deserve anyone's business and are doing the brands that they represent a HUGE disservice. Disgusting. More
BEWARE THE BAIT AND SWITCH. I used Edmunds.com to send inquiries out about a Kia Soul. On Friday I received a call from a woman identified as Nicole. She quoted me a price of $16,600 for the + model. B inquiries out about a Kia Soul. On Friday I received a call from a woman identified as Nicole. She quoted me a price of $16,600 for the + model. Because I knew the Soul comes in different models I made sure to ask her if this was for the automatic transmission and not the standard. As I was getting a better offer, though, from another Rhode Island Kia dealer, I decided not to pursue. The next day, however, I received another call from Nicole saying that they were having an end of the month special on the Kia Soul and quoted me a price of $12,888 (which I saved on my cell phone). I called her back right away because this seemed to good to be true and wanted to confirm that the price was for an automatic. I was at another dealer's at the time and they warned me that this was likely to be a Bait and Switch and claimed that Metro Kia was known for that. Sure enough after getting to Metro Kia and giving some information to a salesperson the salesperson came back from talking with the manager saying that the price that was given to me over the phone was for a standard transmission and not an automatic. They then offered me the car at a price about $4000 more than what Nicole had quoted me over the phone. I promptly left. More
Finance Manager sneaked in an extended warranty into the finance stated that he got me a lower rate because of the warranty. I guess my 834 rating had nothing to do with the finance rate. asked about all sa finance stated that he got me a lower rate because of the warranty. I guess my 834 rating had nothing to do with the finance rate. asked about all sales deals and was laughed at when I asked about the 5000 guaranteed trade, the next week it was advertized. This was my 2nd car from them in the last 4 years. I thought I would be loyal but I guess they are not loyal to the repeat customer. I will not purchase a vehicle from them or any of the Metro Motor Group dealers. More
I have never had such a happy, stress-free, and overall excellent experience as I did at METRO Kia in Johnston, RI. I purchased my new Sorento from Anthony Castergini (Sales) and also worked with Mike D excellent experience as I did at METRO Kia in Johnston, RI. I purchased my new Sorento from Anthony Castergini (Sales) and also worked with Mike Doyle (Manager). These young men waited on my husband and I hand and foot. They were really great about making us feel at home, and comfortable. They were very trust worthy, and gave us below invoice pricing as well. Besides the great price, they are the most professional car people I have ever met in my 59 years of life and I have bought many new cars! And I recommend them to anyone! The service department, who Anthony introduced us to, also seem excellent. I never met a more caring, and thorough staff! Thank you Metro Kia! More
I called these people as I live 1 hour away from their dealership. They (Tara Cram) gave me an amazing price... I called two more times to verify the quote because it was really awesome! They confirmed th dealership. They (Tara Cram) gave me an amazing price... I called two more times to verify the quote because it was really awesome! They confirmed the price to me (Carissa Shangraw). I reach there...and I am with Mike Doyle and Anthony Castergini ... boy o boy... they denied the price rightaway! Saying it was never quoted! I came out and called again to talk to the same person I talked last time...she (Carissa Shangraw) again verified the price that I was quoted earlier... and she looked surprised that Mike Doyle did not entertain the quote. I was so upset I wanted to talk to a higher ranked manager, and Mike says "ok I am the manager, complain to me". It took me several more calls to the same lady (Carissa Shangaw) who finally said she could not do anything if Mike was not giving me the price she quoted me... and sent me to meet Mark (dont know his last name) in their Honda dealership saying he was the main manager. It took him ages to come talk to me... as he was being briefed by Anthony Castergini... finally I was told I am at the wrong place to complain as he could not do anything... and that I should talk to George Smith, the GM. Of course George wasn't there... I called again and this time my call was transferred to Stan Niemiec, Internet sales manager... and he said he could not do anything as it was Mike Doyle's prerogative to quote me anything he wanted... They were all (other than the ladies on phone, who did feel apologetic) were very rude to me... More
