I purchased a For Fusion Monday (06/02/2025. I took it for a test drive and all was well. I asked about the condition of the engine and I was told that it was good. I asked about a message I I took it for a test drive and all was well. I asked about the condition of the engine and I was told that it was good. I asked about a message I saw on the panel ("tire pressure sensor fault") I asked about that and was told that it only meant that the tire pressure was low. I was OK with that. Easy solution: inflate the tires. I checked the temperature needle and it looked OK. The sales rep also looked at the panel and told me: "As you can see, it is right where it should be". To which I said :"Great!". I picked up the car that evening and when I stopped at a gas station to inflate the tires, both: the engine light and the oil light were on. I immediately texted the sales rep to let him know about it. Even though it was his day off, he called me. I asked him what I should do and he asked me to contact Amanda at the dealership. She told me that it was an "as is" car and then told me that I should have noticed that hose two lights were on when I took the car for a test drive. They were not on when I went on my test drive. She agreed to have the check engine light checked, but she refuses to have the reason for the oil light checked, unless I pay of it. As of today, the check engine keeps coming on and off sporadically (if was not on when I test drove the car). The oil light is still on. As if having those two lights come on less than 50 miles from the dealership was not bad enough, I later found out that while I was at another dealership looking at at similar car (same model and year) someone else test drove this car and refused to buy it because of the light issue. Yet the Sales Manager from Hastings Ford called me and lured me out of the other dealership saying that she would match their price although the car she offered had 20K miles less. I took her offer. I've been had. More
Two stars only because the service department is pretty good. Otherwise, they would receive the one-star they truly deserve. (The service department does charge the same, ridiculous Ford prices for basic good. Otherwise, they would receive the one-star they truly deserve. (The service department does charge the same, ridiculous Ford prices for basic services you'll find at any dealership, but the staff is friendly and helpful.) For everyone else considering purchasing a car there, please learn from my mistakes. Buyers beware. We bought a pre-owned Ford car last year and Hastings Ford took great pains to ensure the car they sold us was not of the quality it should be after getting checked out by the badged dealer. First, they only had ONE key and fob for the vehicle. This forced almost $500 in extra charges to have a new key, new fob, and program the fob to the car. They should be providing a new key, new fob, and program it to the vehicle so each vehicle has two keys. Second, they put new tires on the vehicle. This was great! Until i discovered too late that the tires they put on were nowhere near rated for the vehicle. It is incomprehensible that a licensed Ford dealer would put substandard tires on a Ford vehicle and then have the vehicle pass their inspectection, then sell the vehicle. They're a dealer, this was intentional, and it was an issue of safety. Check the tires against the door sticker!!! Third, we're finding out there is a transmission problem. Conveniently, Hastings Ford declined to "Gold Certify" this vehicle, which would have put the transmission problem squarely under warranty. They now want almost $5000 to fix a problem (high Ford prices, remember?) that should have been fixed before the car ever got put on the lot for sale. If it's a newer Ford model vehicle and isn't certified, head somewhere else. Ultimately, buyer beware, Hastings Ford will pull every scummy trick in the book that used car dealers are renowned for and ultimately will sell you an unsafe vehicle, counting on your ignorance to keep spending money at their service department.
